Tickets still availableas of this morning. The fact that DD tickets are $70 and you can't buy bottles is crap. I enjoyed going last year, but the structure and pricing this year...no dice. I'll probably wander over after the second session to buy the leftovers, without paying the price of admission.

This is insanity. Who is paying that much for mediocre BA beer? A 2-hour window to 1) Get into the "fest" , 2) Purchase bottles (for an additional $102), 3) Chug your 35oz of beer, 4) Try other beers? That's horrible. They can't do more than 4 hours total? Hell, just do one 4-hour session and increase bottle limits.

I had a couple pours of these early in the AM of last year's DLD and I did not think they were good enough to hold a whole day around them. I'll be at 5 Rabbit Cervezaira, spending way less for way more.

They addressed this in a FB comment with no public sales of leftover bottles i think

Na, you wouldn't want people buying your products or anything.

also, good way to discourage people from bringing a DD

Wow, this is getting more and more ridiculous by the hour.

So if you don't buy their wildly overpriced fest ticket, you can't get any of the BA beers- even if they don't sell through? Makes a whole lot of sense.

I thought that a breweries #1 priority would be getting people to taste their beer - not force them into it through a $70 ticket.

Stopped by after DLD last year and bought a bunch of bottles that they had leftover. I plan to stop in on Sunday this year and see if there are any bottles for sale. I can't imagine they would hold on to the bottles and not sell them out of spite, but hey ya never know...

They will hold on to them and release them for next year's Barrel Massacre. "A year+ in the bottle! $50 a pop."

I'm glad that I am not alone in my opinion of this. 18th Street has been the buzz for a while now and I was actually considering attending this year since I'll be in the area again for DLD. I've had a few of their brews. It's clear that they do try to bank off of DLD and even model the structure a bit after it. For the price and the time allotted it is definitely not worth it. Sad.

my thought is this, if you gotta advertise getting a lanyard as part of the package, it sounds like you don't have much to justify the value of entry

Bourbon bank was offered last year
Ba devils spear was a public release not too long ago and lasted a while.
Ba dark ale isnt appealing to most.
And 120$ for cognac bank?? Come on now.
Plus 7 ba beers on tap well theres 4 of them right there. 2 are appealing. Wheres the ba blud or ba coconut hunter or ba vanilla hunter. Everybody loved vanilla coffee hunter at last years event why not brew and barrel that for bottles this year.

Last years event was really awesome. Coffee Vanilla and Orange Vanilla were great. I'm super bummed out about the crazy hike in prices. I'll be in town for a friends birthday party so I can't go to DLD and this was going to be my consolation prize. Looks like I'll just be hitting up FFF for an early lunch and Pale Pauper Saturday before the party. Really not cool 18th Street (not that you give a shit)

Pale Pauper should be a good time, the folks at Fischman's know what they're doing

Yeah my parents live by Jeff Park so I often hit them up when I'm home. The local beer scene gets bigger every time I'm home so I'm excited to try a lot at once.

You could also hit up Local Option for their day before DLD event. Lots of good beers being tapped.

Oh yeah. Is that the Catalina Wine Mixer event or something different? Local Option is also always a must when visiting home. Plus I lost my hat a few months ago and need a new one.

Edit: nevermind. Just saw it. See you there.

Looks like Session One tickets finally sold out. I'm guessing Session Two will probably sell out within the next couple days. For all of the dissenting opinions (including mine), they still get their $$$.
