That's exactly what we just paid for it here in NY, and it flies off the shelves in hours.

The shortage the last few years was due to Founders expanding into many new markets without the stock to back it up. Now they have the stock and their new markets so I expect it to last longer on the shelf like it used to.

I picked up another 4 pack this afternoon of FBS at one bottle shop on my rotation for $5.99. Breakfast Stout is available at most bottle shops in my city (Omaha) for between $6.99-$9.99 a 4 pack.. But this particular shop has it readily available at $5.99.. And still an abundant supply. An amazing bargain for a beer of this quality. My fridge has been stocked with multiple 4 packs of this brew since it's release in early September..

I'm drinking one right now with the bottle date of 11/13/15.. The intense roast of the coffee component has yet to mute. I've aged bottles of this for a year plus- only at that point, I've found the coffee flavor to take a back seat and become a bit smoother and more chocolate forward.. Cheers...

    Peace...

My bottle shop had so many cases of FBS not moving that last month they put it on a BOGO Free Sale at 10.99 a 4 Pack so I walked out with a case of it for 33 bucks....it really does not move down here in Florida at all

Probably a combination of the feckless beer squirrel has seen another shiny object, and Founders has acquired a few more of their own shiny objects to increase its output across a larger distribution footprint. If that defines a shelf turd. I won't mind if they keep on turding it up until the heat of summer reminds me its opposite day.

Ill also add FBS was a heck of a lot better than the 2016 KBS which is just a huge misfire this year...tastes like straight coffee with no perceptible bourbon taste...at 24 dollars a 4 pack definitely not happy with this version

IMO the nice common ground is for Founders to either:
    1) produce less Breakfast Stout and/or lower price. Current market isn't demanding it / produce more KBS and/or raise prices for KBS (current market wants it and surley will pay more than current prices
    2) distribute Founders to more states...new state craft people will buy it larger quantities for the first 6-12 mo

Not sure what is the better business option there, but clearly too much Breakfast Stout is going to existing states/stores.

Still lingering 'round these parts @ 9.99 a four pack. It's all good, still holds up, unlike hoppier styles would if left to petrify on the shelves. 9.99 is a price point I can get with & have bought them when I have seen them discounted lately.

It has been on shelves here through late spring for a long time, but I have noticed a lot more of it (as in recent deliveries) this year as well as being marked down from $12 to $10 for the first time. I'm not complaining...

I would have to agree, seen it at a few places for 8.99 and still sitting weeks later.

I was in Indianapolis for the month of January training for my new job. The liquor store around the corner from my hotel had FBS for $8.99/4-pack.
That's the lease expensive I've seen it.

I just picked up a 4 pack at Weis the other day, there were still a couple on the shelves and maybe even more in the back. It was on their seasonal shelf still (a lot of fall/winter beers still lingering around on that shelf despite the fact that we're now getting into summer beer season...). It was a little overpriced at just over $12, the same price as when it's actually in season. I'm sure that's part of the reason they still had some hanging around. Wish they would drop the price on them and get rid of them already.

When I start getting into craft beer this was one of the first beers I tried to track down. It was actually kind of tough but now I can get it any time I want pretty much.

Not a bad problem to have but its definitely around more here now.

Founders hit NorCal hard when they got distro a year ago. It's a hard market here in Norcal - as they say it's like selling ice to eskimos. I bought a few 4s and have had many more on tap at bars. Love it love it love it. Turned a few friends on to it many Californians know all about Cali breweries but nothing out of state. I scored a 4 pack of KBS earlier today.

Pure laziness or popular demand? You have to realize that they have more than doubled their footprint and most of the nation never saw those beers the first time. Both of them were outstanding fruit beers that show off their ability to use restraint and still have massive fruit profiles drink like beer. I am all for new, but please, do not release everything you think of. That is what your taproom is for. The winners from the taproom can emerge and be the next big thing.

Founders has not gone up a cent in 3 years in Iowa. It may be your distributor or your bottle shop.
