I tried searching the forum and couldn't find anything on this topic. I could have sworn i read something from TH saying NOT to age Double Shot, but I'm more interested to hear if anyone has aged previous releases and how it came out. Thanks!

You absolutely as a rule should not age adjunct heavy beers, if you're looking to get the most out of the flavors and want to taste what the brewers were going for. Double Shot is phenomenal fresh, I don't what what there is to gain with more time.

There's no other reason to age Double Shot than to tell people (who I promise you 99.999% of them will not care one ounce), "I have a Double Shot from ___." And, again, I cannot stress how little they'll care. And the beer will be ruined.

    Awesome info. thanks!

Haha I know a couple people who would definitely be pretentious enough to boast something like that. I'm more interested in the potential flavor changes than the bragging rights when it comes to aging.

JAY from tree house posted when releasing Double Shot in bottle. Not to age and drink fresh. This was posted on Facebook, Twitter, and their Website. I would listen to people from the brewery.

Having just had a fresh bottle, i don't think there is any reason to age this one. Lower abv and all that coffee....just drink it! If you want to age one for science, that's fine but it won't get any better than fresh.

Im guessing no, any stout with coffee should be drank fresh, the coffee will fade (unless you don't like coffee)
