At last i have a free weekend to myself, and planning coming to Bend on Saturday ( staying overnight). Have been looking at a few Beer centric tours. Anyone know what the best one is? They are all around $65-70 which is cheaper than a DUI
FWIW, I've found Bend to be very walkable, beer-wise. A lot of the breweries are in/near downtown. Maybe bring your bike?
I know the downtown core OK..thinking more about those places outside that. And i do not have a bike rack on my new car..and besides you can get a DUI on a bike hahaha. Also its good to go on a tour with a small group of people..most times its fun that way.
Cool, I didn't know how familiar you were with Bend. And for me, an introvert bordering on shy, going on an organized group tour, where I don't know at least one other person, would not be my idea of a good time. Party on Garth!
I am sort of an introvert, but i have to push myself forward..being in a small group is ideal..though sometimes its terrible. But this will only be part of my Bend thing..thinking of doing 2 nights if my liver will co-operate.
Last time I was there we stayed at the Phoenix Inn and it was near many breweries. We walked to Crux and Deschutes.
I don't have any insights about the beer tours themselves (I suspect the breweries do the same deal regardless of which tour company it is), but I really like John from Bend Tour Company. I've been on a couple of shuttles with him as the driver, and he's got an entertaining albeit cheesy schtick. PM me if you're interested in meeting over a pint on Saturday, always down to meet another BA!
Sorry dude..as usual something shows up, have to cancel this weekend . A the joys of being a Dad. Maybe soon.
