You could have set up a trade with someone local here and gotten them for a much lower tariff. No doubt they had no limit at $23 per bottle.

$23 per bottle is much better than the $30 I almost paid to take one home from Bottlefork! Haha.

I know that $23 is more than typical, but considering I completely struck out on it this year in PA, and was on the last day of my trip without finding any, I opted to pull the trigger...a few times. Certainly happy with the decision considering the only place near me that got it was a Wegmans with a limit of 1 that sold out in 30 minutes on Black Friday. I thought about reaching out for a trade but that would have meant packing my suitcase full of beer to head there and risking a no show and being stuck bringing back all of that beer.

Glad you got some bottles...just too bad the lengths and price you had to go through. Definitely reach out next time - I would have been happy to trade with you, and I wouldn't have been a no-show! Enjoy those bottles - it's a delicious batch this year (or last year, I guess).

Oh you have no idea the lengths. I walked around the city far more than I should have for 5 days in search of it. I walked from Sheraton Grand to Burnham Liquors (over 1.5 miles) on a whim just to see if they had it; and that was just on Sunday as a last ditch effort. The main impetus for purchasing four was "well I went through all this effort, I'm not just buying one". In retrospect a phone call would have been much easier. Haha. But I didn't think twice about taking Uber back to the hotel!

I appreciate the offer, though. And the next time I'm heading to Chicago I will be sure to check if there is anything you want from Central PA!

Whole Foods Lincoln Park has a BCS event today. Prop and Coffee on draft. A bunch of vintage bottles as well. Nice random surprise during a grocery store trip.

I was there for pour of prop but didn't know about vintage bottles. Any one know what they had?

Opened up my prop 15, got loads of sour cherries....and I'm done with inbev's bcbs. Damn shame cuz I loved this beer so hard.

That's unfortunate. Would suck for anyone holding on to a Prop '15 also.

I hadn't read or experienced that sour cherry taste with Prop 15 though (opened one of my bottles and had it on draft at Rare day). I've definitely had that kind of a taste from the couple of Coffee '15 bottles I opened.

Anyone else get the sour cherries taste from recently opened Prop 15 bottles?

There's a little liquor store in Chicago near the western and diversey intersection. Sign on door reads "bourbon county rare on sale" or something along those lines. So I ask the guy working, "how much?" Hey says fifty bucks. My face lightens up and I ask to see them so he reaches under the desk and pulls out '15 bcs regular and bw... FIFTY DOLLARS! for the bw and thirty for the regular.

They should change the sign to read "for sale" maybe not so much "on sale". Did you laugh in their face when you heard the price?

Ha, that store owner probably has no idea about the actual BCBS rare or that the BW possibly infected. Surely hope no one buys those bottles at that price. Total price gouging!

Ran into a bottle of rare on the shelf for $160. Laughed and passed.

I mentioned that the bw was infected to him and instantly shut down and stopped talking to me. Almost needed to throw another coat on since the room got so cold after that

Wow. Maybe I need to do another cellar dive and bring some 07 through 15 BCBS to DLD and sell it!

What's the scoop on 2015 Prop being infected? Seeing postings claiming this and wondering if there's any knowledge of said claim.

I'm not saying it is or it isn't, but I'm intrigued to know how many postings/notes you have seen about this. I saw one comment about it on here, but that's it. I only had one bottle of it shortly after release and it was great (had it plenty of times on draft since then), but I need a lot more than one comment about it to be convinced there is an issue. I do wonder if there is some sort of fear setting in about it and people thinking the worst.

If it did end up being true, this would really be a shitshow for GI.

The ones I've had have been great! Sounds like something happened to that persons bottle or they just are new to tasting these types of beers...or they were drinking regal rye ha
