This is so goddamned true; I love it. I'm from San Diego and grew up hanging out all over Southern California. I remember going off to LA for college, and there were tons of Bay Area kids attending the same school. They would not stop talking shit about Southern California and how far superior "NorCal" is. They viewed it as an actual, competitive, us vs. them rivalry, whereas I had never thought about Northern California as anything but a nice place to visit.

God, how great is this place? I still get stoked every time I go. Today was no exception.

Cellarmaker Dobis on tap and Beachwood's all new 100% rye pale ale RYE-AGRA. Both were killing it! And if you haven't had the burger (half brisket / half sirloin) you don't know what you are missing.

    Thank you Beachwood!

Just got around to popping this latest batch of Thrillseeker, I agree with many of you that this is definitely one of the better ones Julian has brewed, really juicy.

    Cheers……..

I like Beachwood's beers but I'm not too keen on beers that sound more like a food item than a beer.

It is exactly as it is advertised. Like one of those mexican candy push pops.

Though they really need to stop with this number naming bullshit. It's fucking impossible to tell the difference between their beers with such basic labeling.

Just keep sending us all dat water and we all good, baby.

Cause like all of us SoCal'ers know too well, you guys may bring up this beef we have and so much bad blood between North and South, but us in the South don't even trip about it.

I don't find that too appealing, personally, but I admit I have a preference for simpler beers and tire of these beers that have a long list of additives/adjuncts.

Agreed on the labeling. I've pretty much stopped looking at the blendery beers because of this ridiculous naming system.

Can anyone speak to what kind of crowds to expect at the Long Beach location this weekend? My cousin is coming to town and I wanted to get over there for lunch on Saturday, but I just realized the Grand Prix is this weekend too...

I don't live in LB and I stay away from LB like I stay away from DTLA, unless I'm stopping at BWBBQnB for a quick bite to eat or growler fills. Usually both. But soon I won't have to worry about LB at all. Not that there anything wrong with LB.

License change is supposed to happen sometime between 4/2 and 4/28. Then construction. Fermenters and a nicer tasting room. So yes a few months at least.

I hope your wrong about that tap room. I talked to one of the owners months ago and he said he was planning improving the tasting room. That doesn't mean plans don't change. It would be a fricking tragic if they don't have a tap room.

Can someone from Beachwood chime in here and let us sad saps from HB know about the future of our tasting room?
