Learning from the Locals about punishment and revenge, or at least trying to. With Founders now distributing to Northern Cali, we got an El NiƱo of KBS this year; way less driving for it than for the parched Ohio folks who could be at risk of running out of non-local beer.
@oldmetalguy I can offer my porch for CA-based shipping in order to re-ship it all back to you. However, just confirming you heard the common knock on the said brewery is that their stuff is bit overpriced. I pick up one E. per year at most, Elijah Craig or Vanilla or whatev seems most fun.
@BartS Does Cellarmaker bottle stuff very often? I'm heading down there next month, either way I'm making a stop to try their beer but it would be even more awesome to bring some home.
@jonbonfondle Cellarmaker started bottling early March, one bottle per month on first Tue of the given month. Dank Williams was the March beer, Mt. Nelson (Apr 5th) was the second one. Not announced yet what the May 3rd bottle will be, hopefully that is when you are in town as it will only last ~2 days. Otherwise, still an amazing place to visit and you can fill growlers instead if you miss the bottle window. If you're coming mid-May, I can stash a few bottles of batch #3 and we meet up for a handshake. Let's meet either way!
#VBS Holy crap this beer is awesome, every bit as good as the hype suggests. So much coconut, though the coffee is pretty subtle. Thanks @brightcloud313! I think MBCP just jumped to the top of my must-try list, if they can pull off the flavors as well as this I'm sure it's even better.
Dang, I won't be there until May 28. If it ends up being something I can just try on tap, no big deal. I'll probably have too much beer to bring back anyways between RR and SARA. But yeah, if you're around let's tick that handshake!
Note to self limit hints to 2 at most. @beluga92 you're correct sir. Only hit 1 want but don't think you'll be disappointed.
I owe you guys some pron. First of all I would like to thank Andy for this box. It includes all firsts for me. The universe is conspiring against me this evening. First, I had to resort to a backup laptop. Second, I can't get the images to work properly right now. I promise I will rectify the pron situation as soon as I get to work tomorrow morning. All photos have been taken. I'll talk to you guys in the morning. [/IMG]
Well done photo! Hope to score one of those openers in the future as they are sweet. Been working on my own little homemade swag to include in boxes. Haven't had Last Snow or MBCP yet, but have them in my wants. Hopefully maybe in rd 4!
Ok, as promised some pron! First teku that I've ever owned. I've wanted one, but never ran into the opportunity to pick one up. Another first is this Sunny Side Up glassware (Now I can drink at breakfast and not get questioned? hahaha) Super cool and unique glassware all around. Now on to the main event- Free Will Kriek- This has already been claimed by my wife. I'll be lucky if I even get a small taste by the time I get home from work. Free Will Brown Beard- I am stoked on this one. What's not to like about a rum barreled coffee brown. Sounds delicious.
Still going. Accidentally posted early. The Trillium likely needs no introduction. These have been on my hit list for a long time.
A metric f ton of Troegs brews These are my first beers from Troegs. I'm expecting great things. Left to right- Cultivator Helles Bock Troegenator Doublebock barrel aged Troegenator Doublebock base (These two should make for a good comparison. I love doing the base and barreled variants side by side) Scratch Series #227 Unfiltered French Style Saison Scratch Series #212 Chocolate Stout Scratch Series 2014? Impending Descent Scratch Series Impeding Descent Java Head Stout Troegs Flying Mouflan barleywine barrel aged Perpetual IPA (This one is actually gone in the picture already) First Pizza Boy beers, and I can't wait to break them open. There's just a lot there and I'm not so sure I'm sharing, so i'll have to wait until the weekend. Murren River on the left Simcoe SamuRye in the middle (I love rye brews) Sunny Side Up on the right (Matching glassware up top) So I can drink this one at breakfast and pass it off as coffee right? The money shot- Solid box Andy, thanks a bunch. If you guys look far enough left you can see that he threw the kitchen sink in as well, and a toaster that's in the right side of the pic. (Maybe to go with the Sunny Side Up). It's almost sad that round 3 is drawing to a close. Now the drinking starts in anticipation of round 4.
Enjoy dude! The Impending Descent is 2014 and 2015. The one written on with Sharpie is a 2014. I had multiple years at one point and labeled haha.
