Everyone please remember proper carrying technique when exiting the warehouse. Hands under the holder, folks!

All beer brought in or out must be sealed.

As long as it is a passport. State issued IDs are not accepted at Dark Lord Day.

Who plans on going to Floyd's and 18th Street on Sunday?

Floyd's the Sunday after DLD is always fun. Everyone working there is miserable and hates you more than usual, but they usually have dark lord on tap.

Where is this stated officially? (Not trying to be a dick - this makes sense to me, but the rules they posted are oddly clear about specifying sealed containers LEAVING the grounds, but only mention an ounce limit for ENTERING the grounds.)

Right - beer may be carried OUT. But I was planning to go to a couple Indy breweries the night before to grab some fun local stuff to share that isn't packaged, and wanted to know if I'll be okay if we don't finish them all while waiting in line. I interpreted that line to mean "you can carry out all of your unopened bottles, we can't fill growlers, and you have to finish any growlers you bring."

Sorry, not trying to be difficult and I didn't mean for this to turn into a "thing." Maybe I'm reading too literally? Just wondering if it had been specified! I guess I'll just play it safe and finish all the growlers before entering.

Wouldn't that mean all growlers would be "illegal" regardless of DLD or not in all of Indiana? Or does the law just cover festivals? Or is this 3 Floyds way of misrepresenting the law for their own sake?

I believe the may only bring out "sealed" bottles language is specifically for DLD. The bill specifically addresses DLD and shouldn't be applied to other breweries/days.

Not sure about Indiana law, but in Illinois all growers have to be sealed with a plastic ring for carry out. I imagine as long as it is sealed in this manner you are fine.

Damn this thread, I broke down and joined BA just because I have been following it and the DLD trade lists. I am insanely excited about another DLD, much more so than years past. I think I have just been working too much and need a great day drunk and kid free night in the hotel with the Mrs.

To introduce myself and get caught up: Group C... 3294 and 3295.

For the guy asking about Pear Bear, I have an extra bottle and will toss it in with my stuff going to DLD. I'll open it with you for a handshake or trade it for whatever you tell me is a fair trade.

I am going to avoid the other breweries and insanely crowded bottle shares on Friday... staying at the Holiday Inn and noticed (thanks to this thread) that a cigar lounge is across the street. I see myself buying too nice of a cigar and opening a big bottle or nine and making friends.

I swear as we were entering last year they were making people finish or throw away open bottles. So you could say anything open isn't allowed in or out.

I definitely had to chug a Chocolate Rain entering either last year or the year before.
