I opened two BCBCS last Saturday and have opened 4 BCBS and haven't had a single bad bottle. I feel like I hear somebody screaming "wolf! wolf!"

Consider yourself lucky... They wouldn't have given refunds for BCBW and BCBCS if there wasn't an actual issue and I'm guessing all of these barrels were stored in the similar areas and went through similar brewing/bottling equipment. Just saying this is nowhere out of the realm of possibilities. I have a bunch of Regular that I hope doesn't turn and a Rare that I'm really worried about at this point (even though there have been zero reports of infection) but I'm not in denial that I could be sitting on some skunkified expensive beer...

It wasn't the first time someone would have confused those things. 2013 bcbcs with los immortales coffee had a kind of sour apple tinge to it and people thought it was infected but I had the coffee by itself with the beer and you could tell thats where the flavor came from. Intelligentsia often uses fruit flavors when describing their coffee and I generally agree its not out of the realm of possibility for someone to confuse those things especially if you've never tried that particular coffee before. Right or wrong you shouldn't jump to conclusions. I've been through this enough times with enough different breweries and beers to know that it can go either way.

That's not necessarily true (I'm not saying there isn't an issue with the beers) I mean if enough people believe its true and are demanding their money back what recourse does the company have other than to issue refunds? Its stands to reason that even if the beer passed lab tests for infection it would be a nightmare for them to deny customers refunds.

People thought New glarus Berliner Weiss was over carbonated one year so NG pulled the beer from shelves there actually wasn't an issue with it say for one guy who reported an exploded bottle on here (only instance I'm aware of could be others) and people pouring the beer to warm so all they got was foam when they poured it. Public opinion can absolutely force a breweries hand in a situation like this.

Well, I've got one that's been sitting in the fridge at 33 degrees since I bought it when released. I'll drink it tomorrow and report back.

I have never seen a wolf. Ergo, they do not exist. Reductus ridiculous.

I had one bottle (13.7%) of BCBS which I consumed on New Years' Eve and it was sublime. If there is a problem with Regular BCBS, it seems to be more isolated [in relation to the variants]. If it was more widespread, I'd have to think it would've surfaced earlier than it is.

you know, I wasn't in a rush to drink my bottles of Rare, Regal or Prop. Now, I'm starting to panic and think maybe I should this weekend. I'd hate to sit on them only to be disappointed.

BCBS isn't hard to get, aren't we supposed to claim infection on hard to get bottles so it drives trade value down!

InBev / Goose Island are a bunch of snakes. BCBW was infected from the time they distributed it, they knew they had an issue with coffee.... they likely knew they were shipping out bunk product, but had to do it in time for Black Friday, so didn't do the required QA.... and they want you to save a receipt to get what you paid? I've never saved a beer receipt - and I've never bought beer from a place where you can actually return it - I'm officially done with InBev.

Also probably doesn't help, as some of us may have seen, that certain cities in certain states still have BCBS sitting on shelves. Which can't be good as far as light, temperature etc for cellaring conditions go. Overestimated/overvalued markets in certain cities are having some of the bottles STILL just turding it up on shelves.

Has anyone even actually received their refund for their bad bottles yet either? It's been a month and a half since they stopped taking calls on it

I did not need a receipt to get refunded for my bottles of coffee and barleywine. I simply called the number, explained the negative qualities, read off the time stamp, told them how much I paid per bottle, and they asked what store it was purchased and it's location. It was super easy and they were super nice about it over the phone. Got my shirt in about 3 weeks, my check in about 6-7 weeks.

Don't let facts get in the way of a nice diatribe! They offered up to $100 per person, only asking for the bottling date/time and the store where it was purchased.

No idea that they intentionally shipped it out knowing it was infected only to offer up full refunds at huge expense to themselves is pretty far-fetched, imho.
