Got word that Parabola won't be hitting DC proper until late April/early May. FW distribution is a nightmare here! Also, Waldo's Special Ale being held by the distributor for a 4/20 release, so it'll be out next week in DC.

Has anyone heard about Parabola at Whole Foods in NoVA? My WF guy said end on April/beginning of May, but it's weird that Total Wine would get them this week and Whole Foods wouldn't get them until three (?) weeks later.

 

Yeah, this is a weird release for sure. Like someone said earlier, distribution is all over the place. Whole Foods in Clarendon said they didn't know anything concrete yet, same with Arrowine. But TW and even Arlington Brew Shop got theirs already.

I work in the area one day a week, and the rest of the time I'm in deep SOMD, so if I don't get an early jump I'm screwed. Like this initial release that flew straight under my radar

 

I think the WF guys were caught off guard. They probably just assumed it would show up in early May. Most FW releases are at least a month after it hits the shelves in CA. I would be surprised if it shows up at WF this week. That said TW Mclean didn't get any yet either.

 

You need to understand that the management at FL WF conducts management pinching when it comes to sweet releases like this. I have seen and heard empirically how they have squander quite a few rarer releases amongst staff.

 

I was referring to a different Whole Foods, but good to know.

 

I think it just landed in Baltimore , Canton Crossing had some but I think there was a waiting list.

 

Do we get Pilsner Urquell cans anywhere in the DMV?

 

I haven't found then in VA yet, but if you do, please let me know. The only place I know of to get them is outside of the Nats stadium before games.

Parabola come and gone from TW Sterling. I missed it.
