Different guy this year. Father/son team last year, they were about 20 - 25th in line this year.

Your right, nothing gets ruined. People get in line, have a good time, meet new people, etc.
They brave the elements and when it's over, they have memories and maybe a story or 2 to tell.
The keyboard commando's that mock these people, are just plain miserable. Some people just
have to complain about everything. I'll steal a quote from another BA, "You could donate a kidney
and they would complain that the color was off a little".

no shit i was in front of you in line and saw that, didnt know at first if something fell from the parking garage on your head or if someone threw something at you. Hey id take a snow ball to the head for a bottle of Brute though. Did you get in in the first wave?

Yeah we were the last people to get indoor seats in the first wave. Even lucked out and were seated at a booth in the bar area with a couple who had gotten in line at 5:45. Obviously the beer gods felt they owed me one after the shot to the head!

In all, the brewpub served 2,780 glasses of Kate over the course of the day. At $8 a glass, that’s $22,240 worth of Kate – a total that doesn’t include other beers, mixed drinks, or food that customers bought. Though local charities wound up with $30,000 from the scratch tickets, Kate the Great Day is a boon for the Portsmouth Brewery, which otherwise would do far less business on a Monday in late winter.
