part of me feels like im floating this lucrative lifestyle for people that brew beer. like is that all it takes? ill resort to drinking shitty macro beer if it means viewing another instagram post of some ultra secret collab in a different location while im paying near $5 for 16 oz of beer.

It's on tap right now at Milk & Hops. Pale Ale 4.4% brewed with Motueka hops and I think perhaps wheat? Seems like a slammable beer.

I had a tasting of it at Milk and Hops yesterday afternoon. Very slammable and grabbed a growler!

How long do you guys let your OH beer sit in the fridge before you drink it?

Which OH beers do you prefer to have sit for awhile?

All OH beers deserve a week IMO - AGE can sit for a long time and still be very, very good (3, 4 months)

I heard Sam's been courting HF to do an APA collaboration, you can't miss out on that!!!

***And by "heard" I mean I completely made it up for comedic effect.

Seriously though, some of the callobs have been really good, I loved Make it Rain, but I don't understand why people lose their minds when breweries work together, it's a cool concept but the beer doesn't have any additional value from my point of view.

Lol of course it's high, they are buying it from the brewery for $4/can and illegally reselling it. Need to mark it up to make profit!

I'm pretty sure it's been discussed in previous threads, but OH only sells cans for resale on the very rare occasion that the cans don't sell out that weekend. And since there were only five cases of HS left when they opened on Sunday, I'm guessing this isn't the case. The price also seems like an indication that this isn't OH-endorsed - I doubt OH would want a shop to price gouge like that. I could be wrong though.

I was talking to Sam the other day and he was saying he's been doing so many collabs because that's the best way for brewers to learn from each other.

But I do agree people over hype collabs.

I don't think that's the case with Court St Grocers. They have a good relationship with OH and the OH crew gets sandwiches from them all the time. And a few articles about their new spot in Manhattan mention them selling OH:

    https://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20...ng-first-manhattan-location-greenwich-village

"If they get their wine and beer license from the State Liquor Authority, they plan to source their beer from Other Half Brewing Company"

Maybe I'm wrong then - seems surprising they'd mark it up so much if they are a legit reseller. Good to know that they are a source of OH cans in a pinch though.

Also, you can drink the beer on the premises with your sandwich/salad so that's also why it's marked up.
