    If they don't do anything about this, I'm probably done with them.

    Saw this thread today on Reddit, I traded for around 6 barleywines this year (before the infection came to light) and all of those were a hot mess. I kinda dug the weird sour cherry flavor but they weren't what they should be.

    Now, all the infection on regular BCBS stuff seems to be centered around Tampa/Sarasota correct? I'm chilling a 10/21 bottle I have had since purchase in Jacksonville,FL on Black Friday for a more north Florida perspective. Will report back after.

    While I don't doubt Florida necessarily it's surely odd that all reports, in this thread are from Florida. If anyone has a bottle they are sure are infected I'd love to give one a shot and will provide label.

    Did the state of Florida not approve a request from AB-Inbev for any sort of plant production? It is just so strange how centered this infection has become

    11/04 dated bottles bought in Miami at TW. Tasted fine, been stored at 50/55 degrees since purchase.

    I'm not sure if this muddies the waters but after reading this thread I popped a bottle tonight. It's dated 10/21. I bought it from a Tampa/St. Pete area shop.

    It's delicious.

    Tastes just like it did on release day. Has been in my fridge since Black Friday for whatever that's worth. I'm a doctor, not a microbiologist damnit. Okay, I'm not a doctor either.

    I hope that--selfishly and for everyone's sake--the issue is fairly isolated. Bummed to hear you ended up on the sour side @mxracercam . I have no clue if any of the rest of my bottles are good, but one has your name on it when you make it back up here. Hope all is well down there hombre.

    Thanks man. Luckily I decided not to buy as much this year, likely because of the larger format. I still have a ton of <15 BCBS so I'm all set. How about you come down here and drink some of my beer? :slight_smile:

    @JamesH

    Maybe the warmer climate accelerated the infection. Maybe it's mostly bottles that were filled on 10/21, most of which went to FL? Could be a lot of reasons.

    So I'm having the above mentioned beer right now and have nothing but deliciousness to report. No off flavors, overcarbonation or anything funky in my bottle. Looks like the NY supply is solid for now. Cheers all!

    Unless the bottles are the sole source of infection for any variant you should be 100% fine saving it for your wedding. Rare 2015 spent two years in barrels. It isn't the 2015 BCBS base.

    Bought a case + 1 bottle on Black Friday. All dated 10/21. Drank 3 up until early March - all fine and delicious. Popped 2 over the past few nights. 0/2 - infected as hell. Pure sour and tart. I have 8 left and would assume all others are infected.

    Mine are 11/4. Betting they're fine, but I think I'll open one this weekend just for fun. Maybe I'll open a 13 or 14 too...

    Temperature has everything to do with how an infection progresses. Why do you think temp control is used with lactobacillus souring? Lacto prefers warmer temps. A bottle kept at room temp will exhibit signs of infection faster than the same contaminated beer kept in a fridge.

    Right....

    But either way, the beer is still infected. I'd rather find out sooner than later, wouldn't you?
