If anyone here will be in Chicago the night before and has Morning Delight, SR-71,Good Morning, or Soliet de Minuit, hit me up you are interested in coming to a tasting. If you message me I'll share the beer list we currently have.

It's also weather dependent. I prefer to drink my good beers at 55-60*, of the 4 previous DLDs Ive been to, only one year was the temp much warmer than that. So keeping your beer cold wont be an issue unless its high 60s or higher, in which case I'll gladly trade good weather for the problem of keeping my beer cold.

I want updates every 15 minutes throughout the day.

 

I went last year and never realized, are guest taps announced along with the bands or is it just a surprise when you arrive and walk up to see what they have?

 

Bands are usually announced weeks before. Tap list never comes out. Got to be at the right place at the right time.

Make sure to check Dark Matter's website after DLD. I believe they were selling the same glasses online post-event.

Spot on. Whalez are great, but I'm just as interested in finding a good beer that I haven't had/heard of before and actually stand a chance of getting again.

As far as my stash, it's going to be a mix of local Chicago releases and some random stuff from Jester King, HF, and Treehouse. I'm trying to bring stuff that others in my group probably haven't tried and some local stuff that I can hopefully share with those from other places.

 

Not making the snifters a priority this year. I spent the first 2 hours of the day in line for those snifters the last 2 years. If they make as many as they did last year they are pretty cheap and easy to trade for or buy after the fest.

 

I saw the line at open and said "fuck that". I went at 4pm and everything was still available. I waited maybe 10 min in line, and shared with some people while waiting.

It was super painless.

Look for the awkward and tall guy wearing the Cardinals zubaz and a pour of the American lambic-like product may be YOURS.

Yeah, if you are coming from out of town bring your local stuff because even if it's not "rare" there, people here may never have tried it.

Agreed. Didn't know what to bring last year so brought a Hailstorm Vlad the Conquistador amongst others. When I shared that with some people in line from Louisville, they thought it was amazing. Sure, it's available to us in Chicago pretty much all of the time but not to everyone.

No clue what to bring this year. Don't have a box of whales to share. I will figure it out and not really all that worried about it overall.
