Dark Lord Day 2016

This is the correct mindset. Bring something you like, from wherever, and share it. That's it. To my mind, whalz are fine, but so is a nice pale ale/hefe/stout/yougetwhatI'msaying from your local.

Also, trust me. Your palate will be toast in no time, so for the most part you could have the most excellent and rare whale of all time, and if it's later in your DLD window, you won't be able to appreciate, nor remember, it.

True story - a few years back, a friend of mine's son came in from San Fran with a glorious bomber of Pliny the Younger. It's been one of my white whalz forever, and my friend shared some with me. My recollection, at about 4:00 pm that day, after an early morning start, is murky, at best. My palate couldn't do that beer justice, nor my memory, at that point in the day. So....

Casey Saison? Yowza!

 

Has Hailstorm improved at all over their short lifespan? Their operation/setup is amazing, but their beers never made me say "wow." I haven't tried anything from them since they first kicked off, though.

 

I enjoyed their Vlad The Second Coffee variant. We'll see about this vanilla. Other than that, that's all I've experienced from them.

 

Bringing 10 bottles of '12 Dark Lord I've been cellaring in my greenhouse for the past 4 years.

 

I assure you, you won't be the only one pounding beers in that line. I will have a couple beers off your ISO list with me. I have no intention of trading them... but will be happy to open them all while I am also in line for group C... well, whatever survives Friday night that is. It's going to be a long weekend.

the stuff im bringing may not be impressive to some but i will enjoy them bringing a few beers that i cant get my hands on regularly like some funky buddha beers, fresh jai alai because its delicious, some old dogfish from 2010 like 120 minute and WWS, cinnamon rolled wake n bake, 2014 abyss, and 2014 bourbon county coffee, and maybe 2014 bourbon county vanilla and some more that may make the cut

 

Not sure if serious or not.. That's a pretty impressive list of brews......

Might want to drink the mead before you get in (or the night before). Not sure how strict they will be but the twitter feed says no mead
