?

Will you still go through same amount of time, effort and $ to purchase as much bc varientsin 2016?

  1. Yes, by any means necessary. Every year will be a new year.

Nothing is going to change for me.
I still won't give my money to AB/InBev.
To each is own though. Enjoy your spurs.

You literally said above that the 500ml of that ABV is too much. But sure, keep making it up as you go.

Neither question applies to me. If I find a bottle, I'll get it, but, like this year, won't go out of my way to get it.

I didn't see a single bottle of any of the variants at the store near me this year, though that may have been because I didn't get in until almost a week after the release date. There was still a full case of the regular left by then, though, and I ended up getting three bottles (one for me, two given as Christmas presents to beer-appreciating friends... who will probably end up sharing them with me at some point. XD)

I figure next year will be pretty similar. I may pick up one or more of the variants if I see them around at all, but if not I'll probably just buy several bottles of the regular version while it's on the shelves. I'm not the sort of person who shows up on the release date for anything (at least not intentionally -- if I just happen to have the day off work and feel like going to buy beer anyway then sure, but I'm not going to plan for it ahead of time) or runs around to every store in a 50-mile radius to find as much of a limited-release beer as possible.

I will be on the hunt again but I don't do lines. Didn't wait in any this last year and I got more than the year before over everything including rare. It's good to have connections.

As a huge fan of aged BCBS, if GI started to pasteurize I would be concerned that it wouldn't age as well. IMO, oxidation is not enough to turn fresh BCBS into the liquid gold it becomes with 2 years of age.

Try reading a little more carefully before spewing crap. He also said he drank the bomber over two nights. Can you divide (by two) as well as you multiply?

There's nothing in what you quote there that was untrue. Try again.

I'll do exactly what I have done the last few years, buy it if I happen to come across it. There's too much good beer out there to be chasing anything.

I'm going to try and get a little again this year. My area didn't receive any variants last year (blessing in disguise?), so I'd really be keen on finding Coffee in particular. I had very little trouble grabbing a bottle of '15 Regular, so I have no reason to be deterred this year.

Well said, and I agree with you that they will focus on putting out the best products possible to rebuild the reputation damage from last year. The 2015 regular variant was as good as ever, so I'll stock up again at the right price. I did not overpay this year and won't next year.

I have a routine of getting the base in decent quantity that goes back to 2011. The variants have been a matter of trading and blind luck.

I hope to continue my Black Friday practice of picking up a case of the base from the local store I have been shopping at since the 1970s. Beyond that if BC finds me fine; if it does not fine.

I will actually up my efforts for this year's. A friend of mine went into NYC where there were guaranteeing a full allotment. He invited me and I declined. I won't this year. This is the first year I've been able to grab every variant(incl Prop) and I want to continue that. Plus, with the very real possibility of King Henry II(Electric Boogaloo), I am on board for sure.

I am saying no right now just due to the lengths I went through to get a whole set, and half of them wound up being completely undrinkable (BW, Prop, Coffee) while one was very underwhelming (Regal). I say this now, but we shall see once they announce next year's line-up.

I was out of town visiting the in-laws for Thanksgiving this year so I was in unfamiliar territory. I did some research and visited 6 stores early on Black Friday and scored a total of zero bottles. One place had no limits and blew it all out instantly, a couple stores said they were all reserved for people on their lists, and other stores just got a case or two and sold out quickly.

A couple of weeks later I was in Massachusetts and stopped to look for beers I can't get back in Maine and they had BCBS. An entire display of it. Cases and cases out on the floor. So not only did I finally score a bottle, I was able to buy an entire case and the store even applied their case discount in the process.

I have learned my lesson - I'm not going to stand in any lines or chase BCBS this year. I'll let the fervor die down and try to pick up some later that weekend. I'm sure that I won't get any variants this way, but that's Ok because I really like plain BCBS and if I can get it with no stress or extra effort I will be a happy customer.

This was the first year I've been able to buy BC and first time I have drank it. Yes, I next year I will be getting up at 6am black friday and driving the 45 min to be able to buy as much as I can.

Got my BCBS in December. I have only cracked one; gifted two. Its the middle of April and I can still find it at 2 shops locally where I live at a reasonable price ($11-12). Hell, I have had a BCBS in my fridge for 3 months...haven't opened it yet, though a lot of beer has cycled through the fridge.

I would be interested to know how many people are talking about getting regular BCBS vs variants. I agree I don't need to put much effort for regular, but getting variants requires some lining up.

That Camo Silver Ice in the 40 oz would be the better investment. Get a bottle of that infected Bourbon County to mix it with and think of the money saving possibilities.
