I'm starting this thread because tourist season is starting in the Northwoods. Lots of tough to find beers stick around up here, so I figured I would give vacationers a heads up on things they might not have gotten a chance at, at home. I'll probably update this thing periodically and it will most likely concentrate on my locals shops in the Spooner/Rice Lake/Cumberland/Hayward/Superior areas.

    To kick things off:

~20 bottles of Founders KBS sitting on the shelf at Economart in Spooner @ 4.99 per, no limit. They've been there a week now.

Won't this, in theory, attract more FIBs? :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually on topic - I think a thread of this sort would be most helpful, especially if I made a trip up past Wausau. Cheers!

I'll chime in with hard to find beers available in Eagle River starting in a few weeks. Good idea for a thread.

FIB alert!! We're already infiltrating the beer honey hole that is the northwoods! Or, atleast I am. I've grabbed many of the central waters Brewers reserved releases that I missed out on in Chicago months earlier. North of Wausau.

    Love that cherry stout

Does the Hinterland barrel aged beer make up there? Stovepipe.

I remember seeing a few of the Hinterland BA offerings. Not sure which ones or where but I'll keep an eye out and report back if I find them.

LMAO I used to ride four wheelers along the trail and stop at that place. I can't believe they got a case.

I was at Keyport in Superior this weekend, and they were filling growlers of High Westified for $15.

Grew up in Spooner, and haven't had much luck with the selection. Turns out they get KBS and all sorts of goodies now. Thanks for letting us know!

This is such a great thread. Head to the north woods every summer and typically stick to trigs Rhinelander, but would love to see some other suggestions.

Are there any places that have a decent draft selection, outside seating, and on water?

Also always looking for people to share bottles with or an IP. Heading up in July and can bring Cali,PDX, and Tx brews. Near Eagle River, but willing to travel.

Eagle River has a decent brewery/brewpub I've been to. Tribute Brewing is the name I think. Excellent blueberry beer. You can find their growlers in Minoqua at Trigs too I think...

Woodruff had a new place that just opened last summer that we thought was kind of average but they had just opened. Not horrible.

Minoqua Brewing isn't bad. Their Wild Rice beer is solid if it is on.

Not sure what else there is in that neck of the woods.

Is trigs in minoqua better than the save more grocery store just south of Paul bunyans? Save more isn't all that impressive, haven't stopped at trigs before.

It'd be fun to get together this summer to share a few bottles - I have a cottage on the Eagle River Chain. Send me a message when you're around in July to see if we can make things happen.

I want in on this too. I've got a place off of 70 between Eagle River and St Germaine
