Just wanted to offer a heads-up on the fine selection of Alesmith products that just became available up here. I had already picked up a bottle of Speedway Stout in Greenfield, MA back in June. It's nice to know that I can open it and be able to get even more bottles, even at the price of $14 a pop (except for Yulesmith). Anyone else ecstatic? I've been "semi-retired" from reviewing beer but the selection just keeps getting better every day.
Cool! If you want more, we can send all the dusty bottles of AS from Boston up there, & in exchange VT can send more Heady to Boston. Deal?
Do we know if Alesmith is actually distributing to Vermont, or if the MA stores just got together and sold all the existing stock to another state?
Does Speedway sit around down there too? Just incase you weren't being sarcastic, it's being distributed by Craft Beer guild of VT.
Speedway sells, though it historically only really trickles into the state. The most recent batch is by far the biggest load I've ever seen, so I'll be curious to see how long that lasts. Everything else collects dust. It's good beer and all, but extremely overpriced in this market. The large bottles sell for $16-$20 in MA, and are only about $10 out west. And yeah, I was being sarcastic, though it's not the worst plan in the world...
Yeah, saw Speedway Stout in my store (in Vermont) last week. Did a double take and then bought a bottle. Love AleSmith, this is an awesome development.
Ouch, its been in VT for a week and its 14-15 bucks Because Vt puts out so many coffee imperial stouts?
Well you don't live in VT and previously, you would have to travel or trade to get AleSmith. It's one less beer company that hasn't come to VT and it helps me keep my money local by supporting the stores that carry it.
