Does Bridgewater count as north Jersey? And yes, I am a Giants fan!

 

One of the worst "limits" scenarios I saw was back in December at Neshaminy Creek for A Good Problem to Have. They only had 180 cases with a 2-case limit per customer. It was gone in about a half hour and people were pissed.

 

Everything South of the Union till plaza is South Jersey.

 

I thought the ABV was extremely well hidden - for instance Epitome which is always one of my favs and pretty much same ABV felt more boozy up front to me.

 

so what exactly is All Orange Everything? AGE with orange peel?

 

Upon cracking a can just now there was a little heat not there when I had it at the taproom. Maybe just need a little time to mellow. Still awesome

 

Different hop profile to be more orange/citrus forward, and yes the addition of orange peel. See the youtube video:

 

With all of the A.G.E. hubbub I forgot that I have a couple of Growlers of Eden coming and some Sorachi 077.

 

Carton got flack when production was way off demand. Seems sorted 10 fold and I give them credit because they did it quick.

Kane on the other hand hasn't really done anything and every time it's a shit show Michael Kane looks confused.

I mean I don't think it's fair to say that honestly. Seeing how popular this is I was still able to walk in at 4pm and walk out at 4:02 with my and allotment and some Sorachi Ace O'dub. @augiecarton is doing it right! He's making me regret some things I said a while back.

 

Has Carton expanded? I know there were talks of it happening but never head anything definitive. It really seems like they are producing a lot more beer. I remember over the summer it was very difficult to just get my hands on Boat or 077xx and now you can get a case of AOE and it last more than a day, not to mention new cans are coming out almost every week.

They haven't expanded in terms of physical space accessible to the consumer but it is safe to say they've expanded their brew or storage capacity. Less than 6 months ago there were sessions without any cans and now in the past few weeks we've had many (excellent) releases. Carton is the best Mid Atlantic brewery without a doubt. When I have Dub, Boat, Warrior, Sorachi, Nelson, Id and AOE all available and fresh I am a happy guy. Not only are they all great on their own right but none of those brews step on each other's toes - each is distinct in its own way.

 

I'm not certain they expanded and if they didn't that makes my point even more, that they figured it out in their current space. I think it might just be more regular canning and timing that allows them to do what they are doing now but honestly I'm not sure. I'm just stoked at what they are doing, they are murdering it this year.

 

When was the last shitshow at Kane for you? The only one I've ever experienced was ANTEAD 2014. Since then, the complaints from people have been centered around the fact that Kane employed the "silent release" so people whine when they miss out on bottles as if they were promised something and now can't cash the ticket.

Even now when the masses descend quickly after the Instagram post it isn't a shitshow. They either have a snake queue set up in the back parking lot or an orderly queue in the brewery that terminates at the purchase table in their back space.

All breweries have a learning curve. We saw that with Carton as it took some time for them to enact the idea of selling cans at a table downstairs. It's improved flow in the loft and made it easier for the in/out can only purchasers. For me, both places are doing an incrementally better job handling their package sales as time goes on.

 

Hi guys, quick question. I was going to NYC this summer but I really wanted to try some NJ's craft beers. I found out Jersey City was very next to Manhattan and wondered if I could make a day trip to Jersey City or New Wark and get some Carton and Kane's bottles / cans. Cheers!

 

Not sure about Newark but Super Buy Rite in Jersey City is the only place that gets Carton cans on occassion but that is about it. Kane doesn't distribute bottles outside of the brewery at the moment. You could find both on draft in the Jersey City area quite easily but cans and bottles are very hard to come by.

 

For cans or bottles you are going to have to hit the breweries.

by the way, They sold of the pre-filled growlers of Eden. I was really looking forward to trying that one. I will drown my sorrow in A.O.E.
