Based on the last few releases. I'm sure they'll have a case or so something special, probably on-site consumption only. Just get there at 8A and you won't miss out...

Really glad I picked this one up. Much better than 16. I had a framboise de amorosa next to it and it v17 was clearly at a different complexity level. Hopefully the bottles don't gush.

Random surprise DDG's throughout the AM were a treat. I didn't get any, but there were some people very happy to spend the $50.

^It was no surprise to me since they offered it last V016 release.i made sure to get my ass there when the doors were opened. They also had V014 and Ad Idem in the cooler.

I'm not talking about the 8A batch. By surprise I mean, the staff would randomly walk out of the big cooler door throughout the morning (i was there from around 10:30A-12P) holding up a DDG and selling it to the first person that spotted it and wanted it.

Veritas is delicious this year. I also bought a bottle of Ad Idem. Very, very good.

The Veritas was amazing. Great to hang with SDReaper. As people came in all came by to pay their respects to Reaper. It was like he was the Mayor of SD.

Um, I paid my respects to the beer, which sat respectfully in my tummy.

It was weird. Happened at Mikkeller the day before as well. Time to completely change image or become an asshole in-person so that no one ever talks to me. =P

Thanks for sharing the bottle beerooster. It was quite a treat and never disappoints. =)

I did the session 1 vip and stayed basically right until 2nd session started. I apologize in advance if there wasn't enough Parabola to go around for session 2. Session 1 guys hit it pretty hard and I think there was only 1 keg of it brought down. But I did get to do parabola vs ba beer geek vs viet speedway. I know I am an Alesmith homer, but viet speedway still won in that little lineup for me.

Yes I agree, I was able to get some more Vietnamese SS goodness as well as the mikkeller beer geek, no worries on the parabola as i obtained some up in venice rather then bouncing around town trying to locate. Surprisingly lost abbey had some 2012 deliverance as well which was great. still holding onto my bottle for a special occasion.

To those of you who got a bottle of DDG there, what did you think? I've had it from bottles twice so far this year and once from a keg (at Churchills). At Churchills it was tasting great, both of the bottles have started to develop a weird rubbing alcohol-like smell and taste. One bottle was at Lost Abbey this weekend and another had been recently purchased when they did those sets last year so they spent most/all of their lifetime in the care of Lost Abbey.

Curious if its just bottle variation, the beer just doesn't do well with age, or if this particular vintage doesn't do well with age.

I didn't have a bottle there this weekend but I opened one from the sets earlier in the year and the one from the set was fantastic.

The bottle Beerooster shared with me was very solid. Nice oak, still funk, did not experience the smell/taste you described. I have always preferred it out of the bottle. To me somehow ddg doesn't do well off draft.

I'm going to agree and say it appears to be fading and not aging like I would have expected. I had a bottle recently that was cellar kept since pickup, and I'm really debating if I want to sit on my other bottles and hope to ride this out, or just enjoy them now before they turn worse. Very disappointing honestly, since I typically don't worry about aging beers like this.

...But if you are looking to trade for it, it tastes amazing everyone!

Definitely worth a four pack of heady or maybe two TH cans if you get a generous east coast trader!
