Carton Brewing (April 2016)

I thought it was fantastic, wouldn't say the 10.5% is hidden, but its balanced. Nice malt base balances the hops. If you want a TIPA that rips your face off with hops, this isn't it though.

I think it's great but like AGE will likely change significantly with time. I am willing to have a couple to see how it is in 1-2 weeks before I write my review. You definitely get the AGE influence as well as the orange zest, so clearly they executed what they were attempting to do. With that said, the last batch of AGE was dialed in extremely well so who knows how this 1st batch of AOE will be. . . I imagine a TIPA isn't easy to make

I think the sweet spot for a perfect AGE is 2-3 weeks after canning. Could be the same for AOE. Anyone, feel free to send me 2 cans to test.

 

I went on Saturday too! lol I'm going on Wednesday at opening hoping to get at least 4 cans of AOE. I was able to get some 07006 the other day though.

 

Where did I say that here? You seem like the type who's heard this line and couldn't wait to drop it on someone. Take it elsewhere, beyond this reply I'm not interested in a back and forth pissing match with someone of your mindset.

Bottom line is if I show up at Carton 4 HOURS after a release that had a high demand and can get a full allotment out the door in 2 min and I have yet to have that happen at Kane, clearly one is doing something better than the other.

 

How much are 4pks of All Orange? May have a friend track some down

 

$20, only at the brewery. They MAY have some on Wednesday says the rumor mill but we wont know until then......

I was very surprised by the full case limit. That made me think they had made a ton of it. I bet even with a half case limit, they would sell out by end of day this Wednesday. I saw so many pictures of people with two full cases of a 10.5% alcohol beer. Who is going to drink 48 mammoth beers even with their friends?

 

Agreed. I went down and felt like a weirdo taking away 5 4pks - and I was muleing for my friends who couldn't make it too...

 

I saw a lot of 2 case photos. My guess is one was for trades, which really isn't a guess.

I remember picking up a case of Green Diamonds at Other Half's first release. I went with my brother and we both agreed two cases was a little overboard. We got home and immediately thought to ourselves "How are we going to drink all this?"

 

Wish I could have made the hour drive to pick up some AOE and 07006, but I was on dad duty while my wife went dress shopping for my brother's upcoming wedding.

Glad I have plenty of fresh IDIPA, Boat, and Sit Down Son in my fridge. I'm really loving everything I have from Carton, although my favorite still has to be Regular Coffee. Absolutely love that stuff!
