Street green absolutely tasted like trillium with a bit more abrasiveness- I thought that was a perfect collab. Didn't get to try oat overdose tho

This Bootleggers Ball thing on the 30th looks absolutely insane. The only problem is, how will they possibly be able to handle the crowd they're gonna have that night?

Yea I thought both OO and SG struck really nice balances between the collaborators.

Wouldn't this have a lot to do with the water chemistry of the hosting brewer? I think that this makes collaborations very interesting, as we get to see another brewer's vision melded with the locals' "terroir" so to speak.

Honestly I'm most bummed that I won't get to watch the GoT premier with a beer by my side. Maybe I will pull a Tyrion and drink an entire bottle of wine. Tangentially, has there ever been a thread on here discussing the beer discursions in the GoT books? BC they are glorious.

Yea I think this is a big part of it. It's pretty easy for me to tell when something is brewed at OH vs. elsewhere because of that distinct taste. I should say that I could definitely taste the Trillium influences in Street Green, although personally I prefer most Trillium beers I've had to Street Green.

Yes water is a huge part of it.

Historically high levels of calcium sulfate (gypsum) in Burton was what made their pale ales stand out with a crisp, dry, and pronounced hop flavors. Calcium carbonate (limestone) in the water of Dublin and Munich gives hop bitterness an astringent flavor and requires using acidic dark malts in the mash to bring the mash pH down, so brewers in those cities tend to make darker ales (stouts and dunkels).

Yes a brewer can adjust their mineral content of their water to simulate the water of another region, but there are countless variables and it is impossible to replicate a specific region water's terroir exactly.

Hoping to find some KP mead or sorghum beer for the premier. Pretty excited to have chag end 30 minutes before the premier.

Anyone more excited for Silicon Valley and Veep than GoT? I feel GoT has deteriorated over the course of the past two seasons and straying too far from the books. Also waiting for book 6 to come out, holding my breath bc who knows when that will actually happen, since I don't want the show to spoil the future book. But I love me some Silicon Valley!

Yup, a one-time thing, but we sent a good amount of beer. One of the bizarre things about interstate trucking is that if you want to send a single refrigerated pallet from San Diego to NYC, you have to rent the whole truck. So we sent a literal truckload of beer to NYC for a few events and general distro. As a former Morningside Heights/Fort Greene resident, I'd absolutely love to distribute regularly in NYC, but that will have to wait a little while.

    Cheers & thanks,

Was at your LomaLand location a couple weeks back and absolutely loved it. I made a cup of coffee this morning using the black house beans too. For anyone interested in NYC Whole Foods is getting a few kegs too. I hear they're putting it out around June, but haven't finalized a schedule yet
