Great news. Now, if only someone would start the process to get rid of that strange and obsolete NJ labeling law. I suppose the local breweries and the GSCBG have little reason to care (and, out of self-interest, probably don't mind it at all), so it'd be up to the local NJ wholesale distributors to get the rule repealed. That shouldn't be too difficult, seeing as they just hired the former NJ ABC Director to head their organization.

Of course, with one of the best selections of out-of-state beer in the country, NJ beer drinkers really can't complain too much (BUT that's never stopped beer geeks  from bitchin').

It's because you're not a "beer snob" but a "beer aficionado." We'd even accept "beer connoisseur." :grinning:

I'm in that club too. I don't drink BMC any more than I can help it, and love me some BCBS or KBS or Hopslam or whathaveyou. But I'll drink a Fat Tire at the local bar or an Amberbock at the hockey game and I'm okay with it.

If there were no other reasons (there are!), I would buy a SNPA here and there as a form of royalty payment. In the early '80's there was not yet the multitude of quality yeasts available to home-brewers and I, along with many other "serious" brewers, would painstakingly culture up enough yeast from the sediment in a SNPA bottle to brew a batch. Far superior to the English dried yeasts that dominated the market. A belated thanks to all my Chico friends!

Sierra Nevada is a good brewery, just because they're big doesn't mean it's not good. I drink a lot of snpa and narwhal. I would put Sam Adams in that same category Boston lager is a great beer, and so are a handful of other beers from them.

Really are not many. Victory core is about $34-35 plus tax. I do a good amount of bulk shopping in DE and NJ

    Enjoy

SN is one of those companies that just doesn't do much wrong. Every beer they put out is good. And they are priced for the every day person.

Maybe the Brewers Association would also add a supporting voice to change the labeling law? I'm sure they have some members who wouldn't mind the change.

SN produces a wide variety of beers that range from good to outstanding. I started with Narwhal and BA Narwhal, then got into Ovila, and then Hoptimum, Flipside, Celebration, etc. All my favorite styles are covered. There's never a problem with distro and the prices are reasonable. What more is there to say?

Sadly no Kolsch, please see the other thread - I think we need to petition SN's other social media outlets.

Three readily available brewers I cut my craft tooth on were SN, Stone, and Lagunitas. They still have a solid core line up and I will pick up a 6er of something from one of these fine institutions on a weekend shopping with the wife at the local Frys Market. And upon opening the said brew of choice, I too think to myself why I do not enjoy these great beers at great prices more often? Sort of like re-connecting with an old friend and remembering what it was that got me into craft beer in the first place.

You haven't come full circle yet until you start drinking pilsners.
