Drinking a 21 Oct 2015 1711 right now and it's amazing. Remember the talk around Black Friday about how BCBS regular was amazing on its own? That's what this is.

Doesn't seem to answer what I'm asking or I'm not seeing what you mean.

    Can anyone else explain? Tia

Drinking a 10Nov15 1236 and it's definitely turning. It's drinkable for now, but nowhere near as good as it was back in November.

So, I went through this thread and pulled together all the reports on 2015 BCBS bottles that are showing off flavors.

So far there are 36 bottles with off flavors, reported by 25 different users:

Of those, purchase location was reported for 22 bottles (I did not assume that a user's state reflected where the bottle was purchased):

Finally, 26 bottles had descriptors beyond "infected" "disgusting" or "bad":

10/21 bottle here drank over the weekend. Purchased in Pa. Drinkable but noticeably not as good as fresh. Seemed to be slightly more astringent and less sweet. Definitely seemed to have early signs of infection.

I can't remember what the specific date was on the one I popped open last night but it was a November date. Bought in Iowa on Black Friday. Absolutely perfect. No off flavors at all.

Drank a 21OCT2015 1718 a couple of nights ago. It was perfect. I have two more with the same time/date stamp. Bought and drank in South Florida, and stored on the shelf at approximately 70°f until 3 weeks ago. Already enjoyed 3 others with the same time/date stamp as well with no problems since purchase.

for the sake of something less random than wildly guessing based on locations or label dates let's add some other logic - some of which is assumption since i wasn't there & don't work for GI but i think are reasonable assumptions that lead us to something spanning across the process. meaning, we can't assume limitations based on batch, variant or time segment(s) in bottling.

    1. 2015 BCBS & 2015 BCBSC were both the same base. they likely both were aged in the same lot of bourbon barrels acquired for the same 2015 release.

    2. 2015 BCBW is a barleywine, which obviously means it's NOT the same base as the above stouts. given its 1,2,3 process, we can also assume the barrels it was aged in were acquired for & aged the 2014 BCBS. so completely different make & different acquisition/lot of barrels.

    3. by GI's own acknowledgement both Coffee & Barleywine were "off". comparing the 2 can not be summed up as batch issue, barrel issue, nor date or time-stamp relevant. the evidence there makes a pretty strong case to stop being hopelessly optimistic. it would be wise to abandon the concept of dates & times being significant enough to make sound decisions on what to expect or do next. or no?

    4. watching clips of GI's bottling the bottles obviously are plain (unlabeled) when filled & while i'm sure there is some order to how the labels are eventually affixed, could it be the labels were mass stamped in advance (i.e. time isn't as exact or relevant as we want to think)? final curve ball i'll throw. check the bottom of your bottles. there's another laser-code with what appears to be a totally different time-stamp. it's better seen when a bottle is emptied. i'm jus' sayin', in case we want to double the number of posts on times & batches.:grimacing:

Dec 29th i said i was putting everything i had in the fridge & was met with - (paraphrase) : Isn't it a bit premature to declare it a larger BCBS issue. i didn't "declare" anything specifically, but lemme say, it's never too early or soon to fasten ones seat belt. commonsense & precaution.

Have heard lots about this thread, finally decided to lurk. I had probably 24 bottles of BCBS of which I've drank 3-4 myself with zero issues. I've had various years of BCBS and my bottles have lived up to them for sure. I'm at work and don't know the stamps but my bottles came from FL and TX (at least the BA lives in the Houston area, I assume they got it there). I have maybe 18 left and ever since the whole BCBCS and BCBBW thing happened, all of my bottles have been in the fridge at 53 degrees.

All of my BCBCS and BCBBW were infected and horrible. GI refunded me for those tragedies.

I didn't read every page of this thread but I personally felt the bottle of Regal Rye I drank on 1/30/16 was horrible. I got 2 bottles (10/30/15 - 1238 came from a shop in Orlando, same shop where my infected BCBCS and BCBBW came from) and I thought it had zero barrel, was OVERLY sweet, thin mouth feel, lingering tart/sour, really reminded me of the BCBBW off flavors. I sent all the info to GI and they basically told me I was crazy (similar to what we were all told at first of the other 2 brews). I'm sorry but I've drank hundreds of beers, I've drank quite a few different BCB beers and variants and I'm telling you that bottle of Regal Rye was awful. After reading some of this thread, I'm going to drink my other bottle to see if I'm crazy or what.

Have other people seen problems with Regal? I'm sure there is a thread and yes, I know how to use the search function to find such things.

Im sure some people will say yes to the Regal question, Just because its imbeded in there head that BC was infected. From GI and others stuff I have come across the regal is ok. I was also under the impression regualr was good also. And this infection affected BCBCS and the wine only.
