Just got home from Cloverleaf. What an event! 25 beers, got to try a bunch of stuff I've been after for awhile. Wanted to say hello to and shake @augiecarton's hand for brewing some incredible beers but didn't see (were you there?) or get the chance.

Anyway...finally got to try Cafe y Churro and holy crap that beer is absolutely out of this world! Disaster was also pretty awesome.

As expected, mystery beer was All Orange Everything. As expected, was very good! Didn't blow me away though like I thought it would...

I did, had to leave the line after an hour and a half waiting, but you make a good point :astonished:

Swung by Shop Rite Liquors in Caldwell this morning to pick up a 4 pack of 07006( limit 1) and saw the line at Cloverleaf at 10:30 am. Tempted to stop in but had a flight to catch so couldn't.
As far as the NJ boundary debate, I grew up in Bergen Co. (Although I live in Essex now) and most people up there will tell you if your malls are open on Sunday, you must be in Central or South Jersey.

If only Regular Coffee was available year-round so I could drink it with my pork roll, egg, and cheese sandwiches at the start of my Rutgers football morning tailgates, life would be better.

Haha I like how the sign says #3 of the 10 best, as if they are a different number out of the 5 best or 100 best.

You could have shown up two hours later and not waited in line at all and still gotten the beer.

Carton's open at 5:00 PM today, right? I'm not delusional. At some point wasn't it 4:30-8?
I looked online on Facebook and on Google and both say 5, but why am I being skeptical?

    Someone set me straight here.

Well on this day I had to be somewhere. I think my point is because people feel Carton makes enough for it to last a bit, there is never really a line to deal with. I'm just not really a fan of how Kane does things including the bottling vs canning, price, etc. It's my opinion. I still love them and still drink their beer. I got it later down the road in 2 growlers for substantially cheaper than I would have at the brewery. Two 32oz growlers for $20 vs I believe $12 a bottle at the brewery.

Anyone from Morris/Bergen traveling to Carton today to grab some AOE? Would love to do an IP swap if possible.

When you couldn't get Carton releases on the regular eight months ago, you weren't much of a fan. You're not really a fan of how Kane does things which, coincidentally I'm sure, results in you not being able to purchase their bottle releases in a regular fashion. There's a theme that runs through your complaints.

Guys, this exact discussion got the Kane thread nuked in the past. Augie is too nice of a guy to cause his thread to suffer the same fate. How about we let the Carton thread be the Carton thread, and not go down the same rabbit hole of release methods.

I think we can all agree that we enjoy the drama free Carton ethos

It is about Carton. It's about how well they release their beers compared to other NJ breweries.

Also, a little more than two pages of the Carton Brewing topic is currently devoted to discussion on the geographical delineations of New Jersey and a vernacular dissection of "Taylor Ham" versus "pork roll". It's not exactly a lesson in focus.

Don't worry everyone. In about 5-6 weeks Carton cans are going to get exponentially harder to come by.

Oh, I totally get it. I'm just saying the Kane threads have been nuked for less, felt like we were teetering on that line here...

So my girlfriend made dinner last night: Chicken Cordon Bleu with Veggie infused couscous.
When I saw the plate, I told her that the plate was missing something - DANKNESS.

So she grabbed something from the fridge and put it down next to the plate and said, "Is that dank enough?"

I agree that discussion of the Carton distribution is fair game here but criticism of Kane's methods belongs in Kane threads only. Not saying that it shouldn't exist (even though I think they have been very receptive to change and most would say that DB ANTEAD and BA MB were well executed releases) just that it has a place, and that place is the Kane thread.

Augie I think Eden is awesome. I think that between Eden and Search (Magnify) my local saison options are well handled - they are two very different approaches to the same thing and both well executed. Can you speak to how Eden is different to Tharsis outside of the obvious (grains of paradise vs. saffron)? When you do a new take on a seasonal beer (i.e. "we always do a saison in April", to paraphrase you earlier), do you throw out the recipe and start over? Or is it a new take on the same base beer?
