Last weekend I visited Huff Brewery outside Bellville, TX. Basically, you go down that road that takes you just the other side of nowhere and then turn right. The ruts through the pasture will take you right to it. I'm not kidding...I was on a tight schedule and only had time for one. It was a very well made Helles-type lager. Very clean and tasty. I didn't have time to visit much to see what they envision as their future. I saw some beautiful new conical fermenters that turned me green with envy. Made it hard to go back to my carboys and corny kegs at home! Very anxious to go back when I have more time.

This past Saturday, I took the wife to Pottsville and did the Yuengling tour. They poured us a Black and Tan using their Porter and Premium which is what they actually use when bottling the B and T but it seemed way better mixing it fresh.

Free Will Brewing is on my way to a job ending tomorrow in Quakertown. Started getting semi-regular growler fills only maybe the last 2 months or so. That's probably the only thing I'll miss venturing to that area. There's also a new brewery called The Proper Brewing Co. Very friendly people but the beer (for me) isn't quite there yet.

Tree House Brewery in Monson, MA..... man... their beer is absolutely awesome, but the place is not really near anything and I found it bizarre that they cannot serve on property. Having said that, I WILL be making a visit again. The area is beautiful and B.T.'s Smokehouse (a few miles away) brisket is on the money!

    Deviate Brewing in Indianapolis, IN.

If you are in the area or are visiting Indy, go there. You will not be disappointed with any selection. Just a really solid brewery. I predict this place will blow up in popularity very shortly.

Last weekend I went to New England Brewing Co. for my second time. Finally got to try G-Bot! Next was, Tree House Brewing Co. for my first time. Unbelievable stuff. Very nice space and area. Very much looking forward to the day they have a space where you can drink though. It's not exactly exciting driving 5 hours unavoidably hitting traffic, just to wait in line nearly an hour for a couple growler fills. The next day went to Trillium to scoop up 9 bottles, then Cambridge Brewing Co. and Lord Hobo. Then Mystic and Night Shift, who've improved a ton since I last went but the workers were not the nicest. My fiance was denied service because she accidentally dropped a glass.

On Friday, I'm going to Magnify in Fairfield, NJ then flying out to Minneapolis for a Midwest trip that will include the following breweries: Surly, Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery, Day Block, Toppling Goliath, Court Avenue, Nebraska Brewing Co., The Jaipur, Junkyard Brewing Co., Beaver Island Brewing Co., Barley John's Brewpub, Dangerous Man, Harriet, and Northbound Brewpub... It's gonna be a good trip!

I was hoping to revisit Flat Earth Brewing in St. Paul last night, with a good friend and her husband. Well, he got a nasty stomach bug, so, that plan was shelved. I was in the cities anyway, so I decided to revisit LTD Brewing in Hopkins instead. Only had one there, and Emily's Dream #8 Grapefruit Sour was a very refreshing beer. I brought home a growler of Patio Crusher. I wanted to get thier Orange Peal Patio Crusher, but they were out. The PC might be my NBS beer next Sunday.

Just finished a quick Southern California California trip. Visited the new Firestone in Venice, Lost Abbey/Port taproom, Ballast Point, Modern Times, AleSmith, Mikkeller, and Société. All were awesome!

Favorites were Société, AleSmith, and Firestone in that order.

I just got back from a very successful beercation to VT - NH and ME. Of course I scored a shit load of the usual suspects, Heady, Sip, 2nd Fiddle while in VT as well as Epiphany and some goodies from Allagash while in ME there were also some great stops that were less known. I really enjoyed Stoneface and Lone Wolfe in NH as well as Austin street in ME. Great beers, positive vibe and friendly people made for fun stops. Twas a great trip.

Spent last Saturday on a spur of the moment trip to Bentonville and Rogers Arkansas. I went to Bike Rack, Bentonville, New Province, and, of course, Ozark and had a great time at all four.

Bike Rack - I've been here a few times before. A nice little place. I sat inside because I forgot my sunglasses in the car. The person doing the pours and fills was great. I had a flight and got a half growler to go. Got hungry, so I went across the street and had a great taco at the food truck there.

Bentonville - Only my second time there. Got another flight and three half growlers to go. The person doing the pours and fills here was great, as well. I'll definitely be back.

New Province - A brand new brewery in Rogers. They had five beers on tap; fours core beers and a Wit seasonal. Honestly, I wasn't a fan of any of their beers, except the Civilian pale ale. Got a half growler of it. The person doing the pours and fills was beyond great. The service was excellent!

Ozark - I've been here at least 40 times in the last two years. Always a great experience. Got a couple of cases worth of their APA, Cream Stout, and Belgian Golden. Also got half growlers for me and friends. Eight in all; Two Onyx Cream Stouts, two Claire's, and four of their DIPA.
