In ChiTown right now. Bringing back some Vallejo and Daisy Cutter 4 packs on this trip. Along with Pipeworks and Spitefire cans.

 

Apparently they're here briefly because they'll be at the MT festival. Some nonsense with ABC laws, and all that.

 

So a temp license like Founders did for CBC and FWIBF a few years ago.

Good stuff. I got the same batch. I enjoyed that more than the ZD I had at Hopleaf.

 

I really liked Piece Brewery. I thought the Weight was a solid pale ale and Roland the Headless Assistant Brewer was one of the better oatmeal stouts. Another solid brewery in Chicago.

 

I will open LK can later today after BWSB visit. Got in late last night. Another solid trip.

Piece had decent beers that complimented the pizza, which was great, though the crust could have had a touch more chewiness.

I also enjoyed going to Gyros on the Spit for a delicious gyros dinner paired with an Apex Predator and walking next door to Beermiscuous for Hammerhead Speedway and that Hubbard's Cave adjunct imp stout. Beermiscuous reminded me of Sunset Beer Co, but with a more relaxed, cafe-like setting. It also didn't hurt that everything was in coolers or on draft.

 

Pequod's is where it's at for pizza though.

 

I love the caramelized cheese crust at Pequod's, but the body of the crust is just a tad too bready for me. I do enjoy it, but I'm still more of a Lou Malnati's fan.

 

I like Moretti's pizza. Giovanni's is good too, but maybe a bit touristy? So what's better? New York, New Haven or Chicago?
Edit: Yes I have been to Lou Malnati's too. And yes, I do like their pizza's as well.
