So, if anyone cares I became a Rush fan in 1978, when an older friend played me Hemispheres the day it came out. Hearing La Villa Strangiato was by any sense of the term, life changing. It still is by far my favorite song / instrumental of all time. Due to all sorts of logistical problems (long before the internet, we camped out for tickets, sometimes days at a time for you young folks ), I never got to see them live until 1985, on the Power Windows tour.. and I can point to that as another life changing experience.. I had seen many concerts by then, but the realization of them being able to play what was on the records while still being a 3 piece, even today, is just remarkable.. and a testament to the level of musicianship. Anyways, since then, I've seen them 80 times.. yes, many many times each tour. Since my first concert in 1981 (Ted Nugent hehehe), I have an uncontrollable habit of seeing live shows.. way way worse than trying all these new beers.. So, hardysf, not only was closest in number of shows, but also nailed the the first show year. I BM you for your address. Thanks for all that responded.
80 shows, wow. You, sir, are a committed fan, that is an impressive figure. Nice to have hobbies outside of this craft beer hobby, too. I have most concentrated on, well, beers as of late. Great work @hardysf in nailing this.
