So now I need the cliff notes version of what flavors/characteristics these various barrels would be expected to impart to the base beer. Anyone think they have a good guess other than "awesomeness"?

As a member of group E, I can't wait to pick up a leftover, discarded, unwanted 2015 bottle...though I hope its Akvavit.

Lots of grape love going on here.

Agreed unless u get De Muerte. I bought one of these last year for $30. Me and my buddies took one sip and almost threw up......drain pour. Maybe it was infected? It tasted like rotten peppers.

Same situation. I have Group B and based on the list I know I won't be disappointed. Getting a Marshmallow Handjee or a French Vanilla Militia would make my day though.

So, we all have our own opinions, but I feel totally the opposite. I had the De Muerte from one of the kiosks and found it to be sweet and not at all peppery. I liked it so much I chose it as my variant.

Feeling pretty lucky to be in group A. There's 3 that I've got my eye on hardcore, and 5 I would be very happy with.

The others? Well, I'm just glad it's not gonna come to that.

Also, fwiw, I thought biggleswade was really good.

Group B, there are 2 of us so we are thinking keep one variant to drink and trade the other. Definitely want one of the vanillas to drink, but researching all these different barrels makes me want to try the Trump and pump. Ronaldo sounds like something I would trade away, because I don't like fruit in my stouts.

If I get stuck with a sauterne, muscat or cardamom varietal I'm giving it away. Guajillo is even questionable after my hate affair with prop 15.

I'm getting aboard the hype train for the Ronaldo, French Vanilla Militia, and Marshmallow Handjee

I'd really like to taste some of those before committing to it being my bottle, as opposed to what I presume is a "safer" choice of regular BBA Dark Lord. I really enjoy Sauternes wine, but not sure what beer aged in it will be like.

Band line up is underwhelming to say the least.

Get there early. They'll be pouring some (all?) of them at the kiosks. I think last year they stopped pouring the variants and vintages around noonish.

I'm guessing the major delay in line becomes people deciding on their variant since they won't be taking money and doing scratch-offs this year.

Am I the only one that thinks it's a little cheap that 3 2015 variants are coming back?

But there are 13 options. 10 new, and 3 from last year.
