Don't sleep on Lord Mantis opening the fest at 1 p.m. One reviewer described their new EP as "pure audio filth". Between the new LM line-up & Plague Bringer being on the card, this is a good day for the Chicago metal scene.

I know clean singing in metal seems to be going by the wayside (which to me is a shame because although I am a big metal fan, I've never been into the growling stuff much) and clean singers don't seem to be what the Floyds dig it would still be nice to have one clean singing act on the bill.

I'm there for the beer though, not the music.

Did the coffee flavor fade? The bottle I opened was maybe two months after DLD so it was still relatively 'fresh', if I can even use that term. I always try to open my coffee beers sooner rather than later due to the fear of that coffee note fading away.

    2) I'm curious how they'll all hold up over a year. They could certainly be better with age, but I worry that someone will be disappointed when their Akvavit doesn't taste like Akvavit.[/QUOTE]

DL variants need about 2 years to peak, this should be the last of your concerns, especially since FFF cold stores everything.

It comes from people with horrible reading comprehension.

As others have stated I highly doubt they will be spread out evenly but I do assume the workers mess up sometimes or don't know what they actually have. Because 2 years ago I was in group C and asked for VBDL and they said they were out then multiple plp (like 2-4) posted they got VBDL in D.

So if they didn't space them out then the workers are imcompetent or liars.

    LoL..
I'm group B so not to worried this year on getting one of the 4 I want.

Three floyds put out a tweet specifically stating that variants are first come first serve. That has always been the case.

Yes but if you read my post that is obviously not what has happened.. They may say that and do that but human error obviously produced vbdl in group D when a group c ticket was told they were out.

Let me say I agree with you that FFF said that and that is how it will 99% be.. Just sharing my story

Just checked out Plague Bringer and they seem pretty tight, definitely stoked to see those guys. Is LM's new stuff really that bad? Their old stuff is delicious.

they hire temporary festival workers who are overwhelmed and incompetent. They dont have 8500 variants at the table at once. They run out, dont realize there is another 12 cases of BVDL behind 50 cases of Earl and tell people it's gone and it appears later.

Please, for the love of everything that's holy and descent, let's not go over this whole variant debate again.

For now, lets just assume it's going to be exactly what FFF has already twice communicated and what is posted on DLD website: First Come, First Serve. If they do it differently and space it out, let's be butthurt at that time. But for the moment, let's just take them at their word.

Do they have a list of what variants are left for the later groups? Or is it just a guessing game?
