This will be my second Dark Lord Day, had a blast last year in the rain and cold! Unlike last year, I will be a bit more prepared and bring some uncommon (nothing compared to some of your lists!) beer hoping to contribute to shares more than I was able to last year. It has been very fun following this thread and hope to meet some of you next Saturday! Hoping to finally try some Pliny.

    What I'm bringing:
    BBA Scotty Karate
    No Rules
    2016 KBS
Dragons Milk with Coffee and Chocolate
    Jai Alai
    Double Crooked Tree
    Oddside Colossal Oversight
    Barrel Aged Hibernation Ale
    Saugatuck Not Messin Around

I'm group C and that seems to be the real "Is there going to be anything I want still available" group. I figure roughly 1500-1700 people per group. Unless production increased there will be slim pickings of the more desired variants remaining. My BBADL from last year was limited to 608. I know there's really no way to tell what I'll be able to choose from until the time arrives but the guessing game sure is fun.

5th DLD this year. I haven't made a list of what I'll bring and I haven't looked to get an idea. Will probably just grab a box and pack about 5-7 bottles before I head up there. Can't wait!

I'm slightly worried about the same thing. There are maybe 3-4 variants I'm high on for Group C and its possible or likely all of them could be gone leaving me to choose from stuff I have somewhat of a limited interest in. Hopefully I'll have gotten to try a few of them on draft before making a decision on which one I'll select

It's probably the weakest variant on that list, but I'm wanting to try Dwarven Power Bottom based on the name alone.

It actually sounds pretty good...Dark Lord aged in Muscat (sweet/strong wine) barrels.

I drank some aquavit in Denmark. It's a liquer that tastes like a thicker vodka. It wasn't good or bad. I can see the potential

That's what Dark Lord needs, more sweetness!

As I was thinking about all of these things that have barrels being used to age DL in, it seems as though they are all sweet. However, things like Bourbon (hard liquor) are much stronger than things like Sauternes (wine), so I don't know how the lower alcohol barrels will fare. I love Sauternes, but I'm not sure I want DL aged in it. If that is what's available when I get there, I will give it a shot, but there are some others I would prefer.

Most all of the variants seem to be on the sweet side. The coffee cognac was one of the sweetest beers I have tried in the past year. My first thought on the Armagnac aged variant was Sweet Mother of Beer! Armagnac is probably one of the strongest, sweetest liquors I have tried. Maybe the Vanilla, etc. will help make it all work well. Diabetes in a bottle is best shared!
