Founders Breakfast Stout- Latest batch... Thin and artificial tasting?

    Mine are bottled 8/1/12 and fantastic. The coffee is very strong right now but not artificial in the slightest and mouthfeel is smooth as silk.

    You must be from the future as well. The draft release is 9/21. Unless of course you work for Founders or something. Looks like you are from MI.

    It's been on draught for at least a week (maybe two) @ Founders. The 'Stout Season Kickoff' is actually an event in Midland MI. My understanding is, it's when they release kegs across distribution footprint.

    I love FBS, and will be bummed if it has the same artificial coffee/saccharine flavor that Frangelic Mountain Brown had, that shit was borderline gross. I'll just have to do a lot of product testing and quality control when it gets delivered in NJ...

    I cracked open my last '11 in anticipation of getting my case of '12 last night and drinking one. I would definitely say my '11 had a thicker mouth feel and more of a potent coffee taste. The '12 was still good but the '11 was better.

    The hazelnut flavor in FMB *was* artificial. Whole Food's actually pulled their shipments from shelves after this was brought to their attention. I'll be picking up a 4PK of FBS Tonight. Can't wait to crack a fresh one!

    I dont care what they put in it as long as it tastes good

    I haven't been able to find any yet so I couldn't tell you yet though :slight_frown:

    Just finished a growler of breakfast stout from the brewery and it's just as good as I remember. Very strong coffee flavor, but still smooth and very easy to drink.

    Did you get more than one bottle? are they all 9/6/12?

    and for the record I love the 8/06/12 bottles that I've had.
