I have a freind that is getting married next month. His future wife and he are into craft beer.

(including story on why I need it)
They were on vacation in NC a year or so ago we live in FL. During the trip he was planning on asking her to marry him. The story as he tells it is -he was running around town trying to find stuff to put in the hotel room for after he popped the question.

He bought strawberries, chocolate you know all the romantic stuff. He found a little grungy (as he put it) liquor store, he went in looking for Champagne, he was talking to the clerk and they guy showed him some bubbly, my buddy noticed the pretty impressive craft selection and they began talking about beer. After a few minutes the clerk went behind the counter and showed him a bottle of BA Sexual Chocolate. By buddy paid $50 for it and went on his way.

Needless to say she said yes, they went back to the room and SHE LOVED THE Sexual Chocolate.
As his best man it is my job to find at least 1 bottle of this hopefully 2 so they can have it at the wedding reception.

So what kind of arm and a leg deal am I going to have to make to get a couple of these bad boys?

    EDIT-
Did not realize that it is being released this weekend. This should make finding them a little easier.

    I'll give you the specs. It's 4/person. $20 a bottle.

If you can get to NC, we are in FL so would have to trade for it.
    Thanks

I think she is giving you the bottle counts and prices... Expect to trade something of the same value that is a brewery-only release to get it done with a similar bottle count. Think it was 1200 bottles last year and is expected to be the same this year.

Check the ISO:FT section to get an idea of what people are offering or looking for as there are already pre-trades going up. Cheers!

I was afraid of the dreaded brewery only release, I guess I may have to trade volume for it.
FT 6 pack CCB 750's ISO BA SC x2. maybe that will work.

According to the ISO:FT forum a few seasonal 12 oz shorts beers should get it done :astonished:, but I cannot tell for sure without comments if a deal was made.

Seriously I have traded BASC in the past for Bells / Founders limited stuff, Reg Hunaphu, ( and 2 for a wooden hell answering a FT:ISO thread... no shit. )

To be honest, when He told me the story and asked me about the BASC, I really had no idea it was DL or Huna all over again. Not that I am uninformed, i just don't give a shit about all the hype around beer. I don't have that urge some of you feel - "MUST HAVE LIMITED RELEASE BEERS". I trade mostly locals and do a BIF here and there.

this might work - putting up some interesting growlers from CCB or another FL brewery might make it a little easier. having the release tomorrow definitely improves your chances.

The unfortunate thing is that there are probably dozens or hundreds of other individuals that do have that urge and are willing to pay for it. Put yourself in the BASC holder's shoes: why trade away the beers you stood in line for beers that you could get by offering good seasonals? Not saying it won't get done with quantity of CCB brews, but offering something a bit tougher to come by will greatly increase your chances.

Hunahpu's is a good start. To get 2 bottles would definitely require some more.

I mean, I live 90 minutes away but can't make it to the BASC release. Let's say I had gone to the release, waited in line for hours, and then coughed up $20/bottle. At that point, I would not want to trade my BASC for something that could be traded for using off-the-shelf stuff I can walk into my local Total Wine and grab.

It's an opportunity cost thing, even if you don't "taste the rare."

Those are both pretty easy to land, so I would say it's a good comparison. Like mentioned, Growlers and some other limited bottles from CCB will get it done. $4$, or +$$ on your end depending on how limited the beers you have are.

It will be much easier to do in two trades though..... it's the price you pay for being the best-man I guess!
