Hope they pull it together, but yeah Hoof Hearted and food trucks are the perfect fit.

Just my $0.02, but I have reasons why despite loving their beer, I wouldn't be surprised if the brewpub isn't doing well. For me, the first negative would be, do I want to hang out there? The answer is no. I'm just not overly enthused with the look and feel of the spot. It's just "off" and not what I would have pictured for them when drawing it up in my mind. Two, the food menu just doesn't speak to me. I'm a very picky eater, so I can admit that this reason comes with a degree of bias. However, I think the general public and beer community overall is not as interested in the fancier food options they are offering when they just want to go out for a few beers and a good time. Lastly, and this ties into the food to a degree...the pricing. Despite some items on the menu sounding like I would be a fan of them, I don't see myself ever biting the bullet to try them. The beer pricing is also a little on the higher end. Couple that with the selection and I can totally see why the lust for them is falling off a little bit. "What do you have on tap today?". "Well, we have an IPA, an IPA, a double IPA, a double IPA, a pale, a double IPA, an IPA, and a mild English ale with coffee." There's just not enough variety at the moment. Maybe that will change and they will have other consistent offerings that are solid in other styles?

Again, I love their beer...I really do. But I'm also a part of the crowd that believes, while they are awesome, they are not perfect. I wish them as much success as possible and will be there to support them. But if I have to ask myself why I think they might not be doing well in a certain aspect of their business, I would have to be honest and first start by looking at the things that I'm not as fond of.

When Hoof announced that they were opening a brewpub, I sort of assumed that it'd be a dingy shit hole that had a few Hoof beers on tap, one pinball machine that never worked, a Mortal Kombat 2 arcade cabinet, a few TVs and Iron Maiden playing from a couple of crappy speakers...which would've been awesome in my opinion. Instead it's like what I'd imagine the bar inside of a Four Seasons in Reykjavik would look like, which seems to clash with a brand image based around dick and fart jokes. I still love their stuff, though.

Wow I loved the brewpub and thought the layout was awesome. I also liked the menu, we had Sunday brunch and it was very good. While it was pricey my wife and I also split 2 flights and and had 5 pours between us. It was a great time and the bar tenders were very cool.

If they aren't doing well then maybe they need to go back to the drawing board on the location. Why did you pick that area? How do the other restaurants do in that area. How are the other pubs doing in Cbus in general? I can't imagine they have done much promotion because of the beer nerds hype. But now spring is here and people want to drink at home outside, can trade again and maybe have gone through 500 oz of their beers and need a break.

Or maybe just maybe the pub is like every bar, it gets busy on Friday and Saturday so make your money then and open the other days so your regular customers can come in for a pint and don't fight the crowd.

The problem is that it's not really in walking distance for any of the locals. In general, it's surrounded by a pretty bad area. It would be THRIVING if it were in the Short North proper. As it is, you need to make a dedicated trip a few blocks over, passing through some very "muggable" streets.

In my case, it's very bike-able with the new bike lanes on Summit/Fourth.

That being said, the word-of-mouth and obsession only gets so far out of the echo chamber that is BA. Some proper marketing would help. The Cbus Ale Trail Vol II should get newbies headed that way.

Wow, "muggable" streets in Columbus look more like the tiny little affluent sliver of Akron. Though, at the same time, it does make sense, considering you guys are more accustomed to what is otherwise a foreign concept to us: the sidewalk. What I wouldn't do for some kind of pedestrian culture worth a damn nearby.

So I actually went there for lunch today and it was a great stop. The food was very good(biscuit BLT) and Konkey was excellent -- I really hope that this is the final version of KD, but who knows. Mom Jeans was also excellent and our server was super nice and attentive. It wasn't very busy and the location is a little questionable, but I can comfortably reccomemd this place to others as a good stop for food and beer.

I know the place I use in Cincinnati, Cappy's wine and spirits, usually gets HH beers when they become available. Only place I really know in Cincinnati that actually does get them though. And when they do get them they go quick.

Is it just me, or you all thinking this might be the toughest ticket to get from Hoof in a while? I still think there shouldn't be an issue but I could see this selling out in 5 minutes.

Did Hoof provide more details on the beer itself? I assume we'll know on Thursday evening at the pre-release, once tickets are gone...

"Dive mouth first into the well oiled fantasy world that is....Koffüry.
We were joined on this quest by the masters of the Dark Dojo, Jackie O's. By combining forces we conjured a liquid Laser Unicorn the likes of which may not be seen in a generation.
Appearance: Inky enough to tattoo your friends with.
Taste: Rich chocolate and molasses notes get slap chopped Venusian Aikido style by the exotique Indonesian Coffee, Sulawesi Bone Bone Kalaciri."

Nice thing is that with the four pack limit being released early on Thursday that will give a few days for reviews and ratings to come in before purchase day on Sunday. I have faith it will be excellent but it's their first imperial coffee stout so you never know.

Well I think someone on here posted that Jackie O's was the primary brewer of this beer so that is why I am more excited about it. It sounds fantastic regardless but with Jackie O doing the major work, it should be on another level.
