I didn't attend so maybe shouldn't comment, but....I'll give Chris the benefit of the doubt as he's really pushing to open a new brewing space with a tasting room in Michigan. I'd suggest waiting until he's got the other space up and running before taking it farther than this event was disappointing compared to the usual fun and easy Transient release events.

Don't see why all these people are complaining about neck beard and the party, do the math. Hat and beard = $20-25 easy. Ardent and Maigre are 13 each. So neck beard was was only a few bucks. remember the bundle was discounted. In addition for only 100 bucks you get a hat, a T-shirt, 2 glasses + what ever swag at the next event. Not to mention 2 people drink BA beers for free at 2 x 4-hour events. The tab between 2 people drinking BA beers at the bar is easily $100.

Granted the line sucked, so what no one is perfect, remember Goose island/AB-inbev which had some pretty bad events at first and they are a large company. Chris is a smart dude with great people supporting him.I'm sure he learned somethings and the next line will be better.

May I suggest checking people at the door for memberships? I have a feeling more people crashed this time around. Also getting those pitcher filled before pouring to people in line and before the one before it kicks?

In the end hes one dude with the only help coming from Volunteers, Industry Friends and his Girlfriend, People need to remember Chris is building a Brewery from scratch, Promoting and running a company by purchasing swag, showing up at tapping, running a membership program, etc. Not to mention taking care of a Dog and taking the time to respond ungrateful members and emails. I for one are not holding his party planing skills against him.

Chris don't let these negative posts get you down.Your doing a better job the 99% percent of people would do in your shoes and make better beer then 99.99% of them.

This is my first time in the membership and this is the reason I joined without hesitation. I even split the cost of the membership with a friend. For less than 50 bucks each, we each got a cool glass, each got a piece of merch, plus we each get to go to 2 parties and drink a ton of BA sours. Take the merch out of the equation and that's still less than 25 bucks per person per party. Definitely got my 25 dollars worth. The pours were pretty generous.

I've said before that the parties are worth the cost of membership alone. But I don't get out much :slight_frown:

I had a great time. I've been to every release so far, and though it was crowded there was plenty of beer to be had. He said you could bottle share during the event, so I brought a couple jk 500 ml and and an antead. I shared those while in line and hanging out. People were more than generous with their bottles as well. Not too mention the 3 other breweries also pouring. At no point did I find it difficult to have some beer. All around a great event.

I've been to most of the Transient release parties, I've never had anything less than a great time, and I've never left questioning if I want to return again in the future. Seemed more crowded than usual this week but the cold temps outside probably have something to do with the overly crowded scene inside aquanaut this time around. I easily managed to get pours of all available transient taps within the first hour, had to leave early though so I'm not sure how the scene progressed. Four hours of heavy pours (transient or any of the other representing breweries) should be plenty for anyone involved. I agree with above comments regarding the parties being worth the cost of entrance to the club. I know of nowhere where you can get 2 sessions of four hours of unlimited pours of great beer for you and a friend for tips only, plus the added benefits and swag for the cost of this membership. Transients portfolio of bottles have never disappointed me or any of my beer drinking buddies/wife. Keep up the great work Chris and team, and please keep the Chicago membership alive going forward.

Did anyone get an email about the Bridgman location opening weekend last weekend? Just saw an Instagram post about them being open this past weekend. I would have liked to have gone, but didn't even know.

How does one join the Michigan club? Last time I was on the site I only saw the regular Illinois sign-up.

I know all current members were asked, then he asked the wait list people.

Ahh, yeah I was a member but let it lapse, probably before he asked.

Then I signed up for the wait list again because I was interested in the Michigan membership, probably after he asked.

If we are allowed a few extra bottles to buy, I can help you out.

Cool, thanks for looking out. When I signed up the membership events were in Lansing at OTP which was convent for me. Then I got in and the events moved to Aquanaut, which was not too convent for me. Now I see he has brewed a few beers at Hailstorm as well.

Release events at Bridgman would be cool since I always do a southwest Michigan weekend trip at least once a year, so I could just coincide it with the release weekend.

Same here, I'm in oak forest, so going to Michigan will be a much easier drive for me.

I'll just email Chris and ask. I think I signed up on the last day possible, maybe there was a snafu with that.

Michigan is easier for me simply because I'm already halfway there from Chicago. I don't mind the drive either way, but not dealing with traffic is a bonus. Still plan on staying a member of both though.

I signed up for the Michigan list, and today received a Paypal invoice dated from February for a membership. I'm guessing that since the taproom just opened, that they were held/queued. Did anyone else get an invoice?
