I bought a bunch of 120 in 2012. I bust one out every year at my fantasy football draft. It's an interesting beer to age. Tastes similar to a barleywine now.

The legend that is manbearpig continues to grow. Up to 36 in the top 250, I feel lucky to have one to open. Unfortunately, I plan on saving it for something special so will be a while before I can write a review myself.

I used to feel that way RE saving things for a special occasion. Don't do it, the time is now. I already opened mine and it was amazing. It's perfect right now, as-is, no aging necessary or appropriate.

Agree. Plus aging it makes no sense if you haven't had it fresh. What purpose does it serve? What are you looking for out of the beer by aging it? You won't know without having it fresh.

But if he drinks it at #36 and it goes to #1 it tastes 35 worse...

I'm kicking myself for not grabbing a darn allotment. I still have each variety of the last release. I tried each, and expected to just trade the other half, but had so much going on the past year that I never followed through with anything.

Edit: Not that that I'm complaining about last release, but I really wanted to try the cherry stout.

The rating did not influence me holding on to it, but it sounds like I am the only one who doesn't drink all of their stouts immediately?

Stouts, while something I certainly enjoy immensely, are not something I typically crave. I only drink them when I'm in the mood for something like that.

I'm usually good for a stout for "dessert" over any given weekend. But I do have to remind myself they aren't collectors items. But for something like manbearpig I feel like I gotta try to drink with at least one other person that will appreciate it and not have had a chance to drink it otherwise.

Nah I often hang on to them for a while. I don't age them on purpose per say, I just don't drink a lot of volume and I'm guilty of acquiring more than I can reasonably drink on my own.

Honestly MBP is just so damn good that I think you should imbibe it as soon as possible. There's no reason to deny yourself for longer than necessary. It's that good.

Anyone know if Voodoo Homestead posts a taplist anywhere?

Does that giant eagle tap list site that @HunterPGH made stay updated?

And yes. @SpoonwoodBrewingCo threw a few dates out, people showed little to no interest though.
Personally think it'd be great, and am still down for a meet up.

    Hi Everyone,

I'll be in town the weekend of May 6th. Any beer events, special releases, etc. going on that weekend?

    Thanks!

Immediately after he created the site, GE added a policy to disallow pics being taken of their taplists (personally chastised at two separate locations in two days), which essentially torpedoed collective effort.
