Bourbon County Stout sighting San Antonio

    If anybody is interested, I saw BCBS at the Total Wine off of I410 today (since I'm not familiar with the area it's the one near the Hilton). I'm a Chicago beer dude and walked into Total Wine just to see if there might be anything around I can't find at home. Before I ever walked in I could see 12 BCBS on the service desk counter. There were 10 after I left. 14.3% from a November 11th bottling date. I said to the guy when I walked in, "You don't see that every day." His reply was, "No you don't."

    Good luck if you're still looking. BTW, I did make sure to ask if they got Rare as well and they did not.

    I do know the beer guy at HEB said the distributor held back some cases and if you buy x amount of GI you could get another case or 2

    BCBS from the Black Friday release was collecting dust at that Total Wine last I was there. And that after most of us left with cases that morning.

    Not uncommon in SA, we don't like beer here and nobody shops at that Total Wine.

    Well Whole Foods sure didn't have much. I'd love to know where the hot spots/good bottle shops are. Northwest Food Mart seems to be the only place.

    Heb or specs. Heb often doesn't limit beers. Your best bet is to go to non beer places. GI makes a lot of BCBS, but there is a myth that it's hard to find. I personally don't like the beer so I don't buy it, but I did pass it up a few times a week after it's initial release. The whole foods in SA are not good at getting beers like that. Talk to your stores beer manager and have them request as much as they can. Develop a relationship, it will be worth it if you really care about getting a certain beer.

    Only complaint I have with that TW is that they sell beer way past their "prime"....I don't want a Sculpin from Nov 2015.

    I stopped by again today before I left town. There were 4 BCBS left and apparently they received FW Sucaba (1 case, i.e. 6 bottles) today.

    You know a lot of them do that, I had the Shiner Hoppy Pilsner (their 107 birthday beer) when it first came out and I really liked it, that was back in like Dec. It has just now been released in the past month in houston and the 12 packs are coded with the best buy date of 3/24/2016 and 4/7/2016. The distributors sat on this beer for like 4 months

    NW Food Mart always has some cool gems. In terms of volume, James is right, Spec's and certain HEB's (namely 1604/Bandera, Alon Market, and Stone Oak) are your best bet. Gabriel's Superstore has a lot of good stuff too.

    So all TW are now sold out according to the 3 I called yesterday haha Specs claimed that a store in Dallas had some but the 2 stores I called said they were out and there is none in Texas left.

    I too, would like to know if anyone has seen some BCBS left in stores? I've been in El Paso for work since Sept. and have not been able to get my hands on anything lately. Especially since I am working nights. So any help would be appreciated so that I can ask a friend to pick some up for me. Thank you!

    The Mueller HEB in Austin has a few cases left. They've been going fast, but as of last night there were still 3 cases.
