Thinking of making my first trek to Finback today. What else is a must try besides picking up cans?

BQExC, my personal favorite of the stout variations they have.

My suggestion, order the stout right away with something else and let it warm up a bit. So damn good.

I second the BQExC. So damn good! Would love to see that one bottled.

I kicked the keg so I got about 2oz free. It was good, thanks for the suggestion. I missed 003 which I am endlessly disappointed about - but I really liked Red Shift and Universe. Also got to try the OH double Mosaic, Barrier Money, Mo Shuggie and Afterimage. Worthwhile NYC road trip (about an hour from Jersey for me) !!!!

Finally got around to trying BQExC and AB BQE this weekend at OMH and Rattle n Hum. Both were really good, although I prefer BA BQE over both. AB BQE was a tad sweet for me - 8oz was the perfect pour. Also grabbed some cans of I Feel the Universe, which was a solid, if unmemorable, gose. Seems like this should have been released in the summer though - it'd be a great outside/beach beer.

Personally I'm gonna save most of my Universe cans. I don't think a gose needs to be drank quick

Good call. I only bought a few at Milk & Hops, but I'm definitely saving my remaining can. I wish I had the fridge space to store stuff like that long-term.

I bought 4 4pks and am leaving them in my cellar. Maybe not quite as optimal as a fridge but with the amount of beer I find myself buying I really can't keep anything but fresh IPAs in the fridge and still have room for food (maybe I'll just start keeping my milk and yogurt in the cellar instead )

Looks like the first (of two) collabs Finback made with JWB two weeks ago is Every Gose Has its Thorn

this Gose has been brewed with Coriander, Pink Himalayan Salt, and Ruby Red Grapefruit.

Had it at Station House - another juicy IPA. Very good

Maybe it's just me, but I haven't seen any Finback recently at the bars I frequent in Brooklyn. Though I do find them in Manhattan.

I got a 32oz fill from Milk and Hops yesterday and I definitely enjoyed it. I got a ton of honeydew/melon in the nose and a little more subtle in the taste. Alcohol was hidden very well.

Don't mind this place. It's my local supermarket and it's the worst. Anything worth buying has a substantial mark-up. Grimm cans for $8, KBS for $15, and Cognac Jesus for $32. Oh and their BeerMenus page is incredibly out of date.

Actually they were trying to sell Lambo Door for $10 a can. All of their normal stock is shelf turds anyway.

Was just wondering if they were buying bottles from the brewery and then selling them in the store for the usual 300% mark up. Which would be a violation of state liquor laws.

Interesting, I got mine for $8. Still a freaking rip-off.

Highly doubt that they have a coordinated effort like that. The beer guy is a moron.

Are you a Forest Hills local? Always looking to expand my local beer group.

We just tapped Buddy System, looking forward to trying that.

Two new IPAs coming from them soon:

Knoll - dryhopped with Mosaic, 5%

Smooth Beats Miami - Collaboration with JWakefield, 6.2%, Coconut IPA brewed with coconut and dry hopped with Equinox, El Dorado and Zythos.
