I personally avoid the shuttles because of previous experiences. There's always a possibility of someone/something that delays the shuttle there or back. I would gladly pay extra to have a personal driver than deal with the shuttles coming from the city. The past couple of years I've hired a limo van from M&M limousine for the trip. Surprisingly affordable when split between a few people. And you can roll up like a baller.

I imagine you'll have no trouble grabbing one on the way out to the festival. On the way back, I'd be mindful of the surge pricing.

The uber app says between $40 and $55 one way.

Even with a surge the way back you'd be looking at $50/person max. After doing the math, kinda wish I did uber instead of Jaks.

Not to mention that I'll be taking an Uber TO Jak's to get on a shuttle! :flushed:

Hey guys, first time going to DLD. Beyond pumped, and kinda never thought I'd make it to this thing.

Staying at the Holiday Inn with some friends from OH and looking forward to that share, but I'm getting to town earlier than 7p (which is when the share at the Holiday Inn is set to start) and was wondering if I should roll on over to the Hampton to share until dinner. Is there an official time for the Hampton share starting or is it just going to be people roaming around the lobby with sample glasses and bottles galore?

    Thanks y'all!

This is our debate too. We've got 4 of us going (2 couples). The Jak's shuttles will run us $108 or whatever after fees and then the Ubers to AND from Jak's. You're talking $150, minimum. Uber has got to be cheaper, even with surge... but will Ubers be available at FFF?

That was one of my biggest hesitations. I think that when I'm ready to leave, I will prefer stumbling onto a shuttle as opposed to tracking down and Uber and waiting for when one is available. I'd love to hear other's experiences this year to see how it goes so I can judge for the future.

Maybe I'll be the guinea pig for ya.

My concern with the Jak's shuttle is that I sign up, for example, for the 8 pm return shuttle and the weather takes a turn for the worse and my fiance (hell, and me) is dying to get out of there by 6:30.. I realize this is my problem. Just venting. :sunglasses:

I thought someone had mentioned that they will let you get on a different shuttle back than you originally signed up for, as long as there is room. I honestly had no idea which shuttle back to choose, since this is my first experience.

Yeah, that wasn't an issue last year. We had 5pm return time, but my buddy got wasted and left early, around 2. There were no issues getting on. He said there were like 6 other people.

Even when I left at 5, the bus was half full, and they were taking anybody as long as they had a Jaks wristband/stamp.

I just realized today that Chicago is 1 hour behind Indiana.

This means that the 1st Jaks Tap shuttle leaves at 8:00am Chicago time, which is 9:00am Indiana time.

So just a heads up for those catching the Jaks Tap bus. You'll need to add an extra hour to your arrival time. I'm probably going to catch an Uber instead since I want to get there earlier than 9:30am to line up.

I can't believe it hasn't came out yet that they usually start selling vanilla bean DL bottles around 9:30pm
