Yes, new brewers that have completely turned around what was once undrinkable offerings to beers on par or better than the national competition.

I have only had Jade on the OP's post. Now I wish to try as many others on the list as I can. Off to Carolina soon, I hope.......

Just FYI, whether delicious or not, Carpetbagger hasn't been a collab beer the last couple of year, solely Deep River.[/QUOTE]

Yup. Met Josh who is the head brewer at the original Trophy & pizza location at Sam's this past Friday. He seemed surprised to hear that Carpetbagger was back in circulation until I picked up a 4-pack from one of the cases Sam's had on display and showed it to him. He actually took a pic of it and explained that the graphics design changed. Anyway, not sure where he forwarded the pic but clearly Deep River has been going solo since the original collaboration.

In terms of taste, anyone know if rye is in the recipe?

I just cracked a Carpetbagger. Seems like there is a vanilla or caramel flavor lurking in there. I am digging it.

Had DDS today at trophy Maywood today. DDS and Trophy wife were great. The DAVE single hop pale was the best of the 3 though.

The new Cloud Surfer "New England IPA" at little Trophy is really dang good. I could crush quite a bit of this, but I assume it won't last too long.

Had their Not from Concentrate V3 this weekend as well as the session IPA on. Was not impressed by either. Really enjoyed the Out to Pasture Farmhouse though. Glad I took a trip down the street to grab some fresh Hop Drop.

I've not been blown away by either Citraquenchial or Blurred, but I also don't enjoy this style of IPA as much as others. I thought the Foothills Hop of the Month hazy pale ale was the best NC version of the style that I've had thus far.

Is that out now? I used to always pick up the IPA of the month, but had kinda stopped for whatever reason (maybe just because they don't have funny cartoon dogs on the labels anymore). But they're usually a pretty good deal.

They aren't IPAs anymore. Different beer style each month featuring (but not limited to) a particular hop.

Buddy picked up one for me yesterday, hopefully he'll get that SOB shipped soon!

Also loved Blurred is the Word too, another buddy sent me that a couple weeks ago. Wondering what will be on when Lock'n takes place, my buddy is gonna load up on crowlers and cans from NC and I'll do the same from VA, then I need another friend with an RV to be my mule into Lock'n...no glass at Lock'n from what I've heard.

I tried to do a small share at Lockn last year, but the weather on Thursday squashed that. Would love to this year if a few folks are interested. It's definitely a glass-only policy, but I always bring a couple good bottles just to share that don't leave the campsite.
