Much better than Frangelic Mountain but makes me miss the Bourbon Barrel Sumatra

 

This is pretty funny. I was in Michigan last week and saw the Sumatra at stores for 11.99-13.99/4-pack...

I also saw FIS for $4.49 a single! Why is Founders cheaper in Texas and other states than it is in Michigan??

 

Retail price for Sumatra is likely $10.99-$11.99, guarantee it will be on sale at Meijer for $9.99.

As for a place selling single bottles of Imperial Stout at inflated prices, I'd say you were shopping at the wrong store.

SMB, what a great brown ale! An often after thought for styles, this one really crushed it! Haven't written my rating/review yet, but this will easily dust most of my other favorites in this style category, Bender, DFH Indian Brown, BR Peter Brown, and Port Board Meeting. I'm excited to try this head-2-head with a Coffee Okie this weekend, just wish I had a fresh Coffee Bender to throw into the mix. Looking forward to seeing how this ages, but I'll definitely be stocking up. BRAVO Founders!

Guess this hit Florida this week or last. Picked up a bottle to try, will go back and grab a 4 pack if I like it.

 

Can't find Palm Reader anywhere but I did buy two 4 packs of the mountain Brown and it's freaking delicious. It was stacked to the ceiling at the grocery store so I assume cases are easy to obtain. In a way I kind of like it more than Breakfast Stout

 

I'm very tempted to agree vs. FBS.

 

FYI. Palm Reader is a Michigan-only release.

Got 6 of the Sumatra at Grape and Gourmet yesterday in VA Beach... hope it's tasty, but I'm sure it is.

 

Huh I had no idea like not seeing the backstage releases I just assumed our distribution sucked. I guess they can keep it...?

 

OK, this might be a stupid question, but is there much/any caffeine in the Sumatra Brown (and other coffee beers)?

 

There is caffeine but in a very small amount in these types of beers. No where near what you would find in say in most pops or coffee.

 

Any CT sightings yet?
