Right, that's what I meant - I just had it in my head that I'd heard (maybe earlier in this thread?) that you get your bag and vouchers upon entry to the fest grounds, i.e. at the security check.

Good point about the allergy issue though... maybe I'll let them know that I'm allergic to stouts that aren't aged on vanilla.

 

Pretty interesting point, guess many of us may have a sudden pepper allergy if muerte shows up in the bag

 

I would have to imagine you get your tote and vouchers at security. Otherwise, group E doesn't get vouchers until 6.30?

 

If it does come down to random Ba variants it will surely bring back memories of trading Pokemon cards..! Only bummer is we can't Battle with our Ba variants afterwords

 

If they gave you dark lord and variant when you enter what would the purpose of the groups be???

 

No point at all, that's why it is highly unlikely that they are distributed randomly.

 

We are overthinking this.... Their Twitter account already addressed the random variant theory.

I don't think you get the vouchers and the tote at the same time. From http://www.darklordday.com/tickets/ ---

• You will receive your festival vouchers once your ticket has been scanned and you enter the festival.

• Upon entering the brewery, you will receive your Barrel Aged Dark Lord variant, 4 bottles of 2016 Dark Lord and commemorative bag.

 

If you get and subsequently drink Earl, it will do battle with you on many levels, at least, that much is assured.

as someone else stated above, that's misinterpreted. it's upon entering the brewery, not festival grounds. The beer is always sold in the brewery, so you'll get it once you go through your groups' process and line.

In any event, these articles always get something wrong. They send a blogger who doesn't know anything with a notepad and a half hour for an interview. They he goes back and forms it into a story. They are always bound to get stuff wrong. Remember last year there was an article stating that dark lord would be in 750s and that was posted on here and many other places as fact.

I'm in group C, what's left for variants will be a crap shoot.

Being that I may not be at my sharpest when my time in line is up I want to have my list of variants in order of my preference. Thoughts?

I made a spreadsheet of the variants, researched their barrels, made comments and then ranked them in my preference. I will print that and bring it with me so when I'm blotto by group D, I'll have a cheat sheet.

That's still not really random, though, especially if vanilla is a constant. Either way I'm not putting too much stock in this article, but it sure is interesting.

Lol...... I wouldn't pick this varient, but I would like to try it for sure. I'm a sucker for spicy things and liked habanero Sculpin. If we got the opportunity to buy a second varient I woundn't cross this one completely off the list.
