This is awesome and really cool to see how they're doing releases.

Doesn't ABC prohibit advertising prices like that though? It's beyond helpful to know going in what you'll be dropping byt would hate for them to get into trouble.

As long as the price posted is their "all day every day" price they can post that. A lot of breweries just give the generic "We can't due to ABC" just so they do not have to deal with it I think.

Exact wording per ABC guidelines and link to their Advertising

"What’s the official rule for advertising alcoholic beverages on a licensee’s website or social media?
Licensees may advertise alcoholic beverage products they carry, regular prices of drinks, wine pairings, descriptions of signature cocktails, etc. This may include photos of alcoholic beverages, in bottles or glasses, and tap handles with logos."

I just think it's awesome that a place like this opened up with a full in-house canning line right from the beginning and is focusing this heavily on freshness. I haven't had any of their beers yet, but it sounds like they're on point. Wish we had something comparable as far as canned beers on that level being put out consistently here in Raleigh, I'm definitely a little jealous. It may have taken them a while to finally get opened, but it sounds like it was worth the wait (as it usually is for any brewery if they can afford to wait until they're truly ready to open).

They don't have their own canning line yet. Right now it's done through Old Dominion Mobile Canning. I did see a post that their hope is to have their own line by the end of the year (or maybe it was within a year).

Ah okay, thanks for the clarification. But either way they started out canning immediately upon opening and are doing it consistently.

Yep. Their plan is to can every week. Typically Tuesdays but maybe the canning line was booked up yesterday. They also already announced 2 more new cans will be released next week along with the return of Master Shredder. They are doing it the right way with releasing new stuff every week so early one. That way people have not choice but to keep coming back for the new stuff

Line started today before 3 pm, at 10 minutes of 4, it was easily more than 75 deep...I wanted to go down today, but work and family obligations got in the way...

Got there a little after 4 and got cans a little after 5... I think they started selling out of stuff at about 5:30, and I know everything is gone now.

A little surprised/impressed that demand is so high for what I assumed would be styles that were a little less desirable than usual... heard really good things about the 0 IBU beer though, can't wait to crack one open.

With them releasing new cans of a new beers I figured it would be a quick sell but not in under 2 hours. Expect the exact same thing next week with 2 new beers being canned.

I thought the beers were solid, but definitely not worth waiting an hour in line for to get cans. I hope this isn't the new norm at Veil. However, I'm sure they will can more cases next week and drop the limits to accommodate demand. Obviously they are still very new, and they held back much more of the beer for drafts this go around. That said, was able to get there and grab a draft pretty quickly at 530 today, so no complaints here.

I think a lot of it has to do with them releasing new beers along with being new. Once they get through releasing all the new stuff and into a normal rotation of CT and MS weekly with not multiple new cans I think the chaos will settle down.

I think they need to change their approach, they're only canning a 15bbl, that's only 150 cases each week, they need to go to all draft, abandon the mobile canning and have people just get it on tap. Mobile canning can't be cheap, and the possibility of canning issues (I haven't seen any yet, but it's only a matter of time), they could spread the love longer into the weekend and next week by draft only pours.

I'm probably in the minority here, but until they double or triple production, the demand for cans is only going to grow, and the normal sellout in 1.5 hours is going to be the norm.

For what it's worth, I've wanted to get up there and wanted to try everything, but that 0IBU IPA is the thing that was most interesting and exciting to me - even over the giant imperial stout that was one time only etc. I'm not exactly surprised this sold out faster than the other releases to this point. I still didn't head up for it but I did strongly consider it.

I really appreciate everyone posting to this thread so us folks a bit further away can have a pretty good base of reference for planning trips there - so thanks!

You could be right, but it might depend on what they are canning, not much history to go on but I'm pretty sure the prior weeks cans lasted until Wed.

Yeah. It was 100 cases of Crucial and less than 60 of Shredder the week prior. I think those lasted a whole 24 hours because most of the locals grabbed those on that Saturday at their opening. @HopAttack3 is right in that they only have the ability to brew a limited amount now and with them doing 2 new beers along with CT really cut down on how many total cases of each they could possibly do. And of course it being 2 brand new beers canned this week everyone wanted it. If they follow the theme from their opening day of having low limits so their product can get in as many hands as possible they might as well set limits to 1 4pk pp going forward until they can brew larger batches. Might piss some people off that they are going to wait so long for 1 4pk of each but it will make supply last a little longer even if it's only a couple days.

From another source last week, maybe 20 people in line for cans on Tuesday, this week, 2 new beers released on Wednesday and 75+ inline, and at 5:30'ish, they're all gone. one 4 pack per person is the only way to do it, that way it'll cut down on the line, increase the mule factor however.

I still stand behind my statement on the mobile canning, it's a 2 day process, set up day 1, fill cans and clean on day 2, the filling and cleaning on day 2 is a huge pain in the ass, from a time standpoint, and it can't be cheap. I see more breweries that have abandoned mobile canning, see NoDa and Kane for examples, QC went to shit, Kane did 2 runs? of cans and said F it...

If they weren't doing the canning would they actually sell all the beer every week just by doing draft sales? Seems like right now they're just trying to get their stuff out to as many different people as possible.

Veil canned 2 beers in 1 day last week and 3 beers in 1 day this week on the ODMC... so something is off between what they said they did and what you are saying happens.
for the time being, I'm going too believe Veil.
