Dark Lord Day 2016

all of these weather forecasts have been interesting to follow. The accuweather has been about a day behind some of the others in terms of predictions....so I won't be surprised if later today it shifts from afternoon rain to rain all day with high lowered to like 51-52.

Had a horrible dream last night. I dreamed that I got busy on Saturday and completely lost track of time and never showed up for DLD. By the time I realized it, it was 10:10 PM and I missed it. Thank god it is only Thursday.

 

This was me last year and the reason I left before 6:00, will definitely be wearing rain pants this year

 

Yeah, since we're only 2 days out, I'm assuming this will be the weather for the day. If that's the case....it's going to be just like last year, so A) it will most likely be pretty chill after like 3 or 4pm (since the early/most serious people will probably have gotten too drunk/too cold/wet to stay much longer) and B) it is going to be MUDDY. I would highly recommend that even if you're too cool for any sort of rainboots (I was last year), you don't wear shoes you care about, as there's an excellent chance they will be completely covered in mud by the time you leave DLD.

 

Do any veterans recall a refill station for water bottles? I'm unable to recall one myself over the past several years.

Looks like another year in my deer hunting shit.... I'm just debating on watching Municipal Waste or lining up early to get my bottles in group D.

Noob question - lining up early for bottles at North Gate in Group A, trying to figure out the logistics of getting those Dark Matter snifters. What is the festival line like around the time gates open with non-Group A'ers?

Going to be hard to do both. Line for Bottles was to the left at the brewery, line for glasses was to the right.

I suppose you could just go right into Glassware line, and still make it in time for your bottles...Nothing will have sold out by then Id guess. But idk.

 

Not sure how much they have compared to last year, but last year you could go at the end of the day and get glassware. Think they even had leftovers for sale online , which they said they arent doing this year

 

When did they release the event map last year? I can't imagine the layout will be much different.

 

There was definitely glassware available at the end of the day last year (and online afterwards, I believe), but I don't remember if the mini-snifters were part of that (I know the chalice was still available, which is what I was trying to get).

 

I'm just hoping the forecast is as accurate for Saturday as its been all week here in Chicago. We were supposed to have been rained on all Week, but there has only really been a few patches here and there. Hopefully that's what happens Saturday.

Even being in group a, fuck the bottle line. I'm going straight for the tent area. Hopefully they put up a second one, as it got pretty nasty and gross in there last year.
