Yeah, I saw that too. Weird! Either way, this is probably my most sought after Country Boy beer. It sounds amazing. About to sip on one of the Snakes in a Barrel tonight. My brother and I are going to share a bottle.

So after having this beer, it's very good but the draft version I think is a step above. This has a lot of the characteristics I liked in my review on BA, but it's a little more muted. They are there though. I can taste that bourbon flavor and those roasted malts, but they aren't as prevalent as I remember. Still a very good beer and one I am so happy to have two bottles of!

Uncle Jacobs Stout hits the store I work at in Louisville tomorrow.

Trappe probably still has some of this too for folks in Lexington. They had plenty on Monday evening when I was there. $14 to go, $18 to drink there.

I wish I could grab one but I am saving some money for some other beers! Rather spend that money on a six pack of Galaxy high from madtree instead of one bottle. Is it worth the price?

If you like Tweak without coffee, this is for you. They age gracefully.

On another note, CBB has amended their FB event page -- the Mexican Chocolate Stout is rum barreled.

Do we know if they are going to have a limit per person and the price yet? Excited to try this beer!

Is it wrong that I'm kinda leery about their barrel aging program after Sinkhole?

Not really, I am the same way. I grabbed a glass of it before I bought Sinkhole and wanted a bottle to age. The barrel aging program is hard work. I think they need a better area to stash the barrels though. The Nates Coffee in Rum Barrels was very good though so I know it isn't necessarily Country Boy's method more like a bad batch gone wrong. We will see though, I am very anxious to try it just to see how it turns out.

Probably limit 4 per, and $15 a bottle.

Saw the CW4 bottled up today. Has a Country Boy bottle cap. Maybe on accident.

Surprised they bottled it already. Wonder if the freshness will last a couple weeks till the bottle release. Curious to know the hop schedule for this beer and what hops they did use. I am not looking for a hazy brew but one that had that in your face hop character I enjoy more for a big alcohol DIPA!

No. I refuse to buy any BA bottle they release now unless I've had a chance to try it on tap first. Plus, nothing sells out around here anymore.

(There's a BA stout in a bottle being sold at a brewery here in town, and they still had bottles of it today, a week after release. But you could count how many bottles were left on one hand, so doubtful it's around tomorrow.)

That's more or less what I'm planning on doing with the BA Mexican Chocolate Stout. Try it on tap and then decide if I want any bottles. I'm hoping that Sinkhole was just a one-off bad batch and that they get their barrel program back under control.

Well atleast we know that Country Boy has made good batches of Sinkhole before so it isn't that the recipe is terrible. I am an optimist and think it was more of a barrel issue than anything. We shall see though. Atleast we know that the bottles won't go fast. Anyone else excited for Lexington Beer week just to see what the other breweries not named Country Boy and West Sixth can bottle? One step closer to having more quality brews coming out of the city.

BTW, has anyone seen the Citra Ass Down cans around? Want to pick one up soon.

I'm away right now and don't know how they are doing in distro, but I went to the production facility a couple weeks ago and picked up 4, and I had one at the Smokehouse on Thunder Day, so they exist.

Yeah, I was a little worried they hadn't hit lexington yet. I hope to pick some up at some point just to try the new recipe!

Today officially marks my ninth year as a BA member (although I've been an avid reader years before signing up), and to celebrate I thought I'd actually make a post, haha.

A dear friend of mine is opening up a brand new brewpub in Lexington next month, Life Brewpub. I can vouch that the owner knows his stuff.

Here's some links for anyone interested:

I hope this turns out well, because it's walking distance from my house.

Looks like Country Boy is going to be bottling one of their Alpha Experiment IPAs. Per their Instagram acct "Soon". No info on which hop variety will be used
