Also not targeting you directly as I know you weren't blaming them, your comment just reminded me of all the earlier comments.

No worries. It's got to be a major headache for a brewer - how do you distribute an in-demand beer without pissing people off, rightly or wrongly? Because if you make one person happy, another will have the opposite reaction. I don't know the answer.

Problem was they didn't communicate clearly! I "missed the cut" by about 20 people and although they posted on Social media about tickets being handed out, there were several 18th St employees who walked by and wouldn't even respond to questions on how many would get bottles. In addition, several times someone around me in line walked to the front, and when asked about the cutoff were told not to get out of line! We waited 2 hours after they started selling bottles, and we're obviously not the only ones as the line wrapped around the block until after 11. They very easily could have reduced the allocation so more got bottles, or at least walked up and down the line giving updates. I thought it was the poorest ran release I've eve been to. At the end of the day, I did get two pours of ba hunter and a few other bottles...albeit some were the infected coffee hunters. Regardless, poorly ran release imo!

If you knew you were 20 short of tickets, was it communicated to stick around just in case? It's very dumb that no one responded to your questions, but as soon as I saw I wasn't getting a ticket I would've bailed.

I got off work at 6am and just headed over there because if I went home and fell asleep, I wasn't going to go. You'd think I would have been one of the first in line, but no...the craft beer scene is insane. But, being close enough to the front (in the open alleyway where a storefront used to be between 18th and their neighbor) I heard the whole spiel given by the employees about tickets and allotments so obviously my experience is colored differently than yours. If I was stuck hanging in the balance with no info I'd be pissed too.

It was one of those deals where living and hour away, I wasn't going to bail right away without definite answers. Then the longer you wait, the more you start saying to yourself "I've invested too much time to leave now". I just felt 18th St could have verbally communicated much better.

BA bank with chillis was outstanding. Beyond that? Meh.

Well run, easy, bank variants were great. Still overpriced but at least they had plenty of help and it was a nice time. They allowed 2x BA Bank bottle allocations... Not the cognac but standard BA which was nice.

Sounds like it sucked. Can anyone confirm?

It most certainly did not suck. They put on a first class event, again. All of the BA Banks were all outstanding, as was this years Devils Spear and DTD... The BA Bank w/ Chiles was world class IMO. We were in and had our bottles and drinks 15 minutes before our session started. Just like last year, one of the smoothest beer events you will ever go to. I have no problem paying for what I experienced today. Could they have had some BA Hunter variants on tap? Sure, but you won't hear me complaining. Perfect kick off to the epic weekend! Cheers!

Nice! I like this place but didn't want to go based on outrageous price but glad it turned out okay.
