I don't believe he's expanding the Illinois group anymore. I think the waiting list now is specifically for Michigan. I'm sure I have old emails about how exactly each one will continue to exist exclusively, but I'm almost certain he's not growing the Illinois membership.

So does he plan to continue brewing beer in Illinois for the Illinois members indefinitely Or eventually everything will be made in Michigan and he will cart all the bottles over to Illinois for release events?

Looking back at my IL member emails we're still in the "first period" for 2016 (I believe) with one more event/release still to go. I know Chris said the existing IL memberships can continue, but I don't know if he clarified if he'll be adding new IL only members or not.

Did anyone make it to the opening last Sunday? Curious about the space, what was on tap, etc.

There was one more email I received the same day as the invoice:

I went there on Friday. The space is pretty small but a nice little setup with several 2 person tables & a couple of bigger tables in the middle.
According to my Untappd they had:
    Maigre
    Raspberry Maigre
    Wayward
    Salarium
    Double Barrel Obelus

Also I remember them having a beet gose & a brett pale on tap that I didn't try. They were only doing growlers of Wayward.
Everything was good & Tapistry is right across the street in case you're looking for some non sour/farmhouse options

Do they still do the release parties? I'm thinking about (attempting to) joining this.

Bumping this thread. I didn't make it to the release party this weekend. Anyone have thoughts on it?

I couldn't make it either, so would like to hear thoughts on what was available to drink. All of the beers in this release sound killer. I can't wait to crack them open.

The blueberry apricot sounds especially interesting.

It's one of the best pale ales I've had. Hope they somehow get this out in six/4-packs. It's fantastic

Reminds me of SARA's house pale, which blew me away also.

    Super hot inside and outside.

They had all of the bottled beers this release on tap or in bottles inside + Stop Collaborate + Peanut Buckley + Vanilla Win Bigley + and a few staples and collaborations. Holy shit Kentuckley is good. Needs no age, the coffee, bourbon, oak, and vanilla balance is SPOT ON right now.

Chris also said he was planning on hosting once a year parties next round and only require once a year renewal instead of the current twice a year with two parties. Possibly at Bridgman, possibly Chicago. It's a bummer we'd lose a party, but it sounds like a quality over quantity decision more than anything as he kept emphasizing he wants to do MUCH bigger and better.

I thought there were currently 4 annual release parties, no?

True. 2 release parties per membership period, which was every 6 months.

Chris did mention that the next membership period for IL would be a year long. He didn't happen to mention anything about frequency of parties though.

I was there Sunday for the first hour plus, and it was a good time. I think attendance was down a bit due to either the heat or other obligations or short notice, but it was great for those of us there. No wait for beer. Stout station inside had Kentuckley, which was well balanced, smooth, and rich. Coffee is more well rounded with the balance from the bourbon. I didn't try the Vanilla Win Bigly or the Peanut Buckley as we have a long drive to the party. The exchange bottles for the BA Henry was impressive and thoughtful, so cheers to Chris for that. Plenty of meat pies for everyone. Outside Hailstorm was pouring the Vanilla Rice Stout collab and a NE style IPA. Transient pours outside were Obligatory, Cromulent, Cran Maigre, Ever Expanding Universe, and maybe one other. Cromulent was outstanding. Pineapple and lime. Huge tropical nose. Chris poured bottles of Radleresque, which was perfect for the weather. Delicious grapefruit and ginger balance. Big time bottleshare table that was nearly full of stuff. I didn't get much into that as it seemed to be guarded by a forcefield of sweaty masses. I was content to wander around and keep my sweat to myself. Good times and good people per usual.

Sounds like a great time. Is Kentuckley a BA version of Buckley, or an entire different brew?

Every Transient beer I've tried was very good to great--how do I become a member?

Sign up on their website. There is a long wait-list to get in.

I think the Illinois Membership is full and won't be expanded, so only when someone chooses not to renew their membership will new members be added.

He also has a Michigan Membership which is separate and will have their own release events at the taproom in Michigan.

TLDR: you should have signed up 2 years ago

Anyone know what the Kentuckley bottle count was? Is this pretty hard to obtain?
