I noticed a good amount of people from the front of the line doubling back for a 2nd go round of the line.

I walked up just after noon and got a wristband with no issue. There were people that came in behind me that were getting back in line for a second time.

I know there were a bunch of employees not very happy about it. I believe some people got called out for it.

Someone arriving early to get a 2 per person limit doesn't mean you get 4. It wasn't a shocker that it was someone that has been kicked off of this site, and blasted numerous times for this same behavior.

I'm not sure I totally follow. This person isn't bringing five homeless guys to mule, they're having to wait every time. Is this really such a terrible thing? I think it's insanity to go wait 6 hours to be first in line, and then another hour to re-up, but if 1) their time is worth so little, and 2) there's not enough demand to sell out in one swoop, what's the harm?

Because it is 2 per person. Not 2 per person per time through the line.
It's wrong, that is the harm.

I'd have to agree, I typically refrain from entering the line twice and respect the brewery's limit but i've seen a lot worst at a release.

Line cutters, mules with zero interest in the beer...these people are jerks. I agree with people there.

Two per person <> Four per some persons. If it says 2 per, respect it, enjoy your two and call it a day.

The employees didn't seem to mind at all, from want I saw. Appears it's just a few salty folks, per the norm.

Look I get where you're coming from man and I don't want to argue. But if the brewery really cared then they would've had some system in place to prevent it. Being "not very happy about it" just doesn't do anything. It sounds like everyone who got there by noon got bottles, I just don't see the point in being upset about something that didn't affect you. Unless it did affect you in some way, in which case my bad.

I am one of the many people that went through line twice. I talked to Dennis, the owner, the instructions were that once everyone got their bands to get their first 2 bottles we were allowed to go through a second time. Nobody I was with or around cut, muled or cheated anyone out of bottles. Not sure I see the harm there?

The conversation going on at the register when I went through the line were employees talking about "how were people getting second arm bands after they already went through the line". That "it was suppose to be 2 per person."

It is one thing to get your allotment of bottles, hang out for a bit, and then buy a second round after all those that showed up already got their bottles. It is another thing to be back in line by 12:05 while people are still trickling in to get their bottles.

This "early bird gets the worm" mentality isn't about community but about "self". If you were in line for a second time, got the last set of bottles, and then the person behind you got none would you be gracious enough to offer yours up? I would say for the majority of people the answer in private would be no.

I think the time and effort people put to "winning" in the beer world is a huge detriment to the community and fun in this. I believe a lot of the problems with releases stem from that. Is it the worst thing going on in life? No. Am I actually upset about it? No. Is it worth having a discussion about because it happens over and over again? yes.

I don't disagree with you on the hoarding mentality of the scene, and I wish it weren't that way (especially when most bottles will be used solely for trade gouging and even selling). However, if the brewery truly doesn't want this, there's a very simple answer: Don't be a part of creating the hype. Do an unannounced release, two bottles per day, scan IDs if you must. Do a ticketed release. Breweries want the hype and cache that comes with a long line 5 hours before the doors open, but they have to also understand that is going to bring out the worst of the scene.

I didnt make it this year but i dont believe any of us believed that with 300 allotments, folks would have a second chance to buy more. If the brewery didnt have enough people to sell out the allotments then one of 2 things happened. They made too much or there was too little hype. So, if someone who put the effort into waiting in line all night long got 2 allotments, because they immediately got back into the END of the line, it wouldnt bother me.

Yeah honestly I'm just surprised there wasn't enough people already in line at go-time to account for all the bottles. Although I don't really see that as a bad thing. Any time you can get there at the actual time of the release and walk away with bottles and draft that's pretty solid.

I was one of the first 20 people in line. Saw people in front of me go back 3-4 times before others in line even got theirs. That's terrible behavior. Glad to see that those that got a band were able to get the bottles promised by the band. I'd be mad as hell if I got a band and then missed out. Kudos to those that were able to double up and shame on those that did it by cutting in line.
