I opened a 2015 regular and Prop yesterday and they both smelled sour. The beers tasted sour and metallic. The prop was much more pungent and undrinkable. If the beer wasn't stored in a cellar but at room temperature would that be the reason? I have had prop on tap and it tasted nothing like this.

I have had other goose Island from previous years stored the same with no issues.

I can remove it. Are you saying it isn't bad or are you saying it is just a known fact. I paid a decent amount for a product and waited outside in the cold and rain for it. I expect it to be a quality product

From what i seen and I read on this and beer talk. Wine "bad", coffee"bad", Prop "only a handful of reviews bad", Regal "samething only a handful bad" BCBS "this is the only site mentioning of an infection" the funny tyhing is it seems they are all october bottles that are bad but the strange thing is not all of them are.

This honestly has got out of hand. Its a headache that needs to go away. GI should have just stripped all these beers from the shelves and distro. Granted that would have caused a problem in itself.

I honestly believe this has gotten to the point that everyone wants to find an infected bottle so bad That they are drinking good bottles thinking they are infected. IMO

Been seeing Regal and Prop popping up as infected on trade groups. Also seen seen some regular BCBS with claims of infection. I can tell you that every coffee and BW I had was bad infected. All of my regular BCBS has been fine

Becuase it hasnt been on as big of a scale as the wine and coffee. Same with the regular there hasnt been enough reporting and problems for the company to feel a refund is needed.

Im sure they will if enough bottles are being started and reported to them.

As stated before i feel liek people are looking and thinking there is a problem when there isnt.
The mind is a crazy thing you can make yourself think your sick. Im sure you can make yourself think something is sour.

The funny thing is this is the only website stating a "Sour" infection lol. But thats all a matter of opinion. At this point drink, them, age them, but why continue with this nonsense.

well it was terrible and got dumped, I tried to keep drinking it while my friend immediately poured his out, took over a year to finally get my hand on any BC variant and to have GI or you or anyone else even kind of imply there is no problem or it's in my head makes it worse, we got hosed and you didn't so be happy and let us pool together and bitch about and share our disappointment and anger

Its all good my point is there is three other threads on this, go join your friends and complain.
I completely understand what you are saying though. Luckily mine was fine. I only go one this year. Took a couple weeks to get to CT first and when it finally did i was already annoyed with them I only bought one. Im actually really happy i didnt go to NY or MA to get the regal and coffee as im starting ot hear they are infected.

I believe soem may have gotten infected. But one i heard of the "infection" I was already assuming it was to them all.
I also didnt ge tthe infection because I drink my Bourbon beer fresh. IMO why buy a beer aged in alcohol to mellow it out. So I avoided this issue all together

If they knew there was an infection, why would they send the beer out? I'm all for placing blame where it's due, but they didn't intentionally sour the beers and sell them to distro already infected. That occurred later. Much later, like after it was all sold out. Nothing they can do at that point.

The caught some of the wine and coffee. From what I. as for the "souring" Im reall interested to taste this "souring" as all the descriptions are not a lacto or pedo description. That is exactly why I find this whole thing funny.

Opened my Prop 15 last night. Label of 18Sep15 1819. The peppers were not present and the maple sweetness was also missing instead it had the tartness of sour cherry.

It was much less pronounced as Coffee/Barleywine and much more drinkable but I would definitely say the flavors are off and there is a problem. A real bummer to have 3 bad variants this year

I drank out of three Prop 15 bottles and I also had it on draft at Rare Day, before the release... They all tasted the same and none were off tasting as some would describe. I had Regal (on draft and from bottles) a few times and they tasted fine. I also had quite a few regular, both bottles and on draft, and all tasted great. The only one that I had which was off tasting was one Coffee from bottle (on draft it was very good and the other time from the bottle was good as well). The one that tasted 'off' tasted like cherries and it had a lot of foam head upon pour.

My opinion: there likely are some issues, but I think the level at which it's being reported is exaggerated. I find it hard to believe that out of my 18 regular bottles, 3 Prop bottles, 2 Regal bottles and 2 Coffee, only 1 would be 'off' tasting based on how prevalent the reporting of 'bad' bottles is. If I were going by how often I see 'infected' being reported, I would've expected 75% of my bottles to have been bad. Or maybe I'm just that lucky.

no, you arent looking for an infection. Where I feel most the BA responders are now trying to seek out an "infection" this entire thing is actually really amusing to me. I know a few people that had a bad coffee and wine, absolutely no one i know has had a bad regular or regal.

On top of that you can see in multiple threads here people are saying souring but i think its because the wording choose form the begining as soon people her "infection" they think souring. Funny because the popel i know said it was just off bad flavors. No sourness at all present.
