Winner has been determined for best box, will hopefully get time to pack out tonight so it goes out ninja style Monday. @blassor also said he will try to get the 2nd place box out as well. Cheers!
Good thinking, shows yet again you guys know your stuff. Everyone else rocks hospital oatmeal and prunes.
Didn't get mine out this weekend. Will be going out when I get back from travel for work this weekend
Hey Guys, this is geared towards mostly the New England guys. My wife and I are planning a road trip up to New England over Memorial day weekend. After Tree House (which you'll be in and out quickly, depending on the line) possibly look into Building 8 Brewing as it seems on your way to VT. Haven't heard of them until I got a can last week in a box. https://www.facebook.com/Building-8-Brewing-BLDG8-Brewing-512648938868433/ For Maine, Bissell Brothers - 1 Industrial Way, Portland, ME 04103. Think there are 2-3 other breweries in this complex. For Mass, look at Trillium in Canton instead of Boston. Boston is very small and Canton has tasting, unless you just want to grab. Aeronaut Brewing isn't too far. Stopped at Aeronaut when I was in the area last summer and not too far from Night Shift. Finally, maybe swing by NEBCO on your way back from Night Shift/Trillium.
Yeah. I was talking with one of the guys at Bissell, they are closed that weekend due to moving into a larger facility. I had them on my list originally. I was planning to hit up the Ft. Point location for Trillium as it's the original spot, Maybe I will check canton instead. I've been to NEBCO, otherwise I'd def hit that up too. Maybe ill swing by on my way back on Sunday, gotta see if they are open sundays.
Think NEBCO is closed on Sundays IIRC. We visit my sister-in-law every now and then in CT and think they are always closed on Sunday. Unless they open for the holiday weekend or summer hours.
It was her idea! Yeah, shes more and more into the craft beer, even has UnTapped. It makes the habit much easier.
Well guys, I did it. Those of you following me on Untappd may have noticed that I checked into a *ahem* few beers this weekend. Some buddies and I did 3 days in Portland and then the DeGarde Party yesterday. Sitting at the airport today with the worst hangover of my life...my liver killed itself so it wouldn't have to put up with me anymore. Highlights: Everything at DeGarde, it's all fantastic. The Archer is possibly the best beer I've ever tried, if not, it's certainly top 3-5 Serendipitously running into an old friend from college I hadn't seen or talked to in like 3 years and had no idea who lived in Portland. I had an extra bomber of Intersection of Species (JK) and gave it to him as a gift. He turned around, ran to his car and gave me a bottle of Boysen Premiere. Hair of the Dog. We went on a barleywine fueled rampage through their taplist and bottle list and only left when we started seriously considering going in on Dave. Adam batch 7 (1995), Matt (2010), Adam from the rye (2015), and Cherry Lila from the stone were awesome. We drank 45 years of cellar aging between five dudes. Great Notion Brewing - These guys have been open 4 months and are BLOWING UP. Double Stack was nearly as good as Good Morning, Juice Box is a Trillium/Treehouse tier East Coast Turbid Fucksauce IPA, and they have a Blueberry Muffin berlinerweisse which uses actual muffins in the mash. I buried my nose in the glass for about an hour. Culmination Brewing - Another awesome little brewery that's only about a year old. Euphoric Brett IPA was great, they have a Black Currant Blood Orange Sour, and everything else on draft was fabulous as well. 5 dollar bombers of the Euphoric to-go means my luggage was in serious jeopardy. Amazing trip and I highly recommend anyone who can go take a loooong weekend trip to Portland. I'm gonna go throw up in the airport bathroom again now. Love you guys.
if your going down 95 thru CT try and hit up Beer'd in Stonington, pretty sure its outta the way going back to PA but worth the stop(and open on SUnday w/ $5 pours). also right on the shoreline and 5 min from Grey Sail in RI
